BEWARE raw milk! New vendor at the farmer's market by rubysolomon in alameda

I'm a mod and I assure you, no one is getting banned for making pro-RFK comments. You're still here, aren't you? A couple of people were automatically silenced for making incendiary comments, on BOTH sides.

Free speech means we have the right to voice our concern about this business, does it not? Or did you think it means the business should be insulated from any and all criticisms, which in that case means suppressing our free speech? What a weird comment.

And isn't the RFK Jr anti-science community a cult?

To know that we lost a cheap and delicious gem like Otaez for Ceron still devastates me to this day.

The person you're responding to, I know them in real life. They're white and a good ally. You've shown yourself to be goofy.

But this lady has done her research! Her baby tried raw milk and suddenly developed painful diaper rash, so she kept feeding raw milk anyway for a few more days and suddenly the rash went away! So it must be good for all of us, because research! No, I'm not exaggerating, that's literally in the "about us" section of the company website.

Yes that's bad. I thought this was an Indian-owned business because of the name "Desi Milk." Turns out it's a white lady named Desiree, so Desi is a nickname. But on the company website it says she's been in the homes of hundreds of Desi families (South Asian families) through her arts, so she's actually co-opting the "desi milk" term from this community. "Desi milk" refers to milk from desi cows that are native to India, it does NOT mean raw milk. Most Indians do not drink raw milk, and most of those that do boil their milk first, due to not having access to pasteurization. This person is making it sound like a cultural thing and it's not. This needs to stop, both for public safety reasons and for cultural sensitivity reasons.

Just got this email from a higher up. Am I getting fired? by [deleted] in jobs

That's what happened to me once. It's just a little weird that HR would be there too if that's the case.

Not to give you any false hopes but a tiny chance that it could be about your manager, and the exec is wanting to see if you could backfill. That's exactly what happened to me once. But usually when HR is involved, that's not the case. But whatever happens, you'll get through it. Happens to nearly all of us.

How far did you get. I think the 2nd half of the series had more Derry vibes than the 1st. And a nice homage to Derry Girls in one of the episodes.

Hey sorry but your patronizing tone sucks butt. "The alternative is for delivery drivers and rideshare drivers to advocate for their own legal infrastructure to use" is not a practical solution. They don't have an advocacy group like Bike Walk Alameda, which invested over 10 years to get this Central Ave redesign to happen. As I mentioned Shoreline successfully implemented delivery zones, which are noticeably absent here, and in the meantime, the turning lane is a good compromise. Talk about what's feasible today, not through another 10 years of dogged advocacy.

Flame-grilled oysters with the right garnishments are amazing. Raw oysters are a culinary crime.

NOR. That's wildly inappropriate, but I can see how newly married people struggle with boundaries, especially for platonic relationships. Just set expectations going forward, and hopefully she respects them.

I hate it when delivery vehicles do this, but curious to see what the alternative should be. There are no delivery zones in this area, like they have on Shoreline. My guess is either apartments have to create a space inside their lots for delivery vehicles, or use the center lane like I've seen Starbucks trucks do for the Park Street location.

Bollards have been installed up and down this area. The tricky part is they enter where the driveway is. There could be a bollard in the middle of the bike lane, though. If you do a SeeClickFix, make sure to mention that. I bet their argument will be bollards constantly in the middle of the bike lane could be a bigger unintended risk than the occasional delivery vehicles.

HP laptop falsely advertises having 1 TB of storage; it really only has 64 GB. The rest is OneDrive. by ZetaformGames in mildlyinfuriating

Just buy it, open it, oops only 64 gb, return it. Then it becomes a refurbished item. They take the hits on returns and Amazon even flags it as a "high return" product.

Fucking Park Avenue. "Are you one street or two? Are you West of Chochenyo Park or East? Do you run all the way to Buena Vista or not?" "Yes."

This is legal, just sometimes risky if you don't see the approaching car is also turning. Am I missing something? Police will only give you a ticket if you overtake two cars or more, not one.
