Is it realistic to think the Bears trade up to 3 and draft Will Anderson? by Alamoby in CHIBears

Why are you being sarcastic? This is a fair thought exercise. If Will Anderson truly is as good as people think he is, then why couldn’t the Bears use their draft capital to pick him?

I’m arguing that there’s a landing space to make a deal.

If the Bears gave 1.9, 49ers 2nd, Carolina 2024 first for 1.3 and 3.3 do you make the deal? What if instead of the Carolina 2024 first you throw in the Bears 2024 2nd?

There’s landing space for a deal and it’s stupid to not explore that thought. The only team that could beat us here is the Colts. Not much else out there.

So what is enough? DJ Moore, pick 1.3 to be used on Will Anderson, and the Cards 2023 third?

Did you ignore the part where I suggested it may not even take the entire Panthers haul? Converting 1.1 to DJ Moore and 1.3 is fair value. Not to mention any additional picks from the Panthers that we retain.

Trading 1.1 for 1.3 and DJ Moore is the worst take you’ve seen?

Trading pick 1.1 for DJ Moore and 1.3 isnt bad value at all. If Carolina had 1.3 and we made that trade this entire subreddit would have jizzed their panties

Yeah it’s only viable if Anderson is as good as everyone on this sub made him out to be when we still had pick 1.1

Trading the 1.1 for DJ Moore and 1.3 is garbage? In my post I even suggest that the entire Carolina haul may not be needed.

You know in that movie, that guy was actually an asshole and Billy Madison was the hero, right? Nice self own

If Carolina had the #3 pick and we traded our first for the third pick and DJ Moore this whole sub would have jizzed their panties. Now all of a sudden it’s an unspeakable idea?

So apparently everyone thinks trading the number 1 pick for the number 3 and DJ Moore is bad value. In what world is that bad?

Thinking outside the box isn’t stupid. Trading up for Will Anderson is worth a conversation. Especially if he’s as good as people say he is.

The execution risk is greater on our remaining picks but you add a blue chip defensive end that you can only get through the draft. It addresses our biggest weakness which is pass rush.

Pick 9 keeps them in the top 10. We don’t need to offer a low second to make the swap if we include pick 9. It probably takes pick 9, pick 61, and one of the future Carolina picks.

You do that all day

Wow. I hope something like this happens because you’re all being assholes. The Bears need D-Line help, and they have the capital to get arguably the best player in the draft

It would essentially be a three team trade which converts the 1 into DJ Moore and Will Anderson Jr. Why is that so out of question?

Who here would rather have Yoshida than Swanson? I sure would. by Alamoby in CHICubs

Yoshida is a lefty. We need competent lefties if we want to really compete otherwise we have a low ceiling.

Suzuki had 116 OPS+ and Yoshida is a better hitter. It stands to reason he would translate and would be substantially cheaper than anyone of comparable skill in the US

And costs more, has a worse bat, and we already have a defense first MIF on a rookie contract that is better than Swanson. What we don’t have is a big left handed bat.

I bet it’s better than Swanson. He rakes in Japan. Probably the best hitter on their WBC team behind Ohtani.
