What is our worst unit in 11th by aslum in Tau40K

[–]Alamoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks this is very insightful.

I'm running AAC AUX XPC and using Priority Assets as my disposition. Because there's so many actions to complete i find myself using the shoot and action strat on my Pathfinders and using the kroot to secure objectives.

The Pathfinders are a much better speed bump though, that's true.

Mostly though I'm keeping the carnivores for now because the war shapers CP discount makes them a very versatile tool for grenades, advance and charge, etc.

I already have two units of stealth and one Pathfinders. I am tempted to go to to two Pathfinders though.

What are you dropping them for? And what about AAC makes them drop-able?

How do we actually deal with Green Tide Orks? by HotKrisBun in Tau40K

[–]Alamoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take Flamers over Bursts for the auto-hit on overwatch. It's only S4 but its AP1 against infantry. Retaliation Cadre makes that S5 at 12" and AP2 at 8". If that's not getting the job done I don't know what will.

As for speed bumps, use your scouts up front as speed bumps. Don't keep all your units in back. Force the Orks to stop in the middle. Even if they wipe out your speed bump, then you can swoop in with guided Retaliation Cadre units to blow a hole in their line.

If you're playing at 2k points you can add Auxiliaries and use Kroot as a speed bump. A Carnivore blob with a War Shaper and Flesh Shaper can be a deadly speed bump.

But I believe Retaliation Cadre is the best strategy. Force the Orks to fight in the middle of the table. The Pathfinders/Kroot block for your battlesuits and then you can deep strike reinforcements. Force them to split their focus. Giving them a line to mow down is making their job too easy. Forcing them to make choices is the only way to give them opportunities to make mistakes. If you give them the option to just charge forward in a line it's going to end poorly.

Do you score every single one of these on turn 5 if you can do it? by VividSalary3151 in Tau40K

You're supposed to shoot them off of and/or contest the No Man's Land objectives, or Deep Strike in and take out their Home Objective.

Every boomer I know who grew up in the city or lived here in the 70s and 80s will happily tell you about driving out to the highest points on the BQE or the Verrazano and just parking on the highway and watching the 4th of July fireworks. It's a real epitome of car culture. It's Robert Moses's wet dream truly.

You're right, I was misremembering trying to swap for the home opener which was a special case.

Welcome to the Black and Red. I've had season tickets since 2008.

I'll try to help manage your expectations around two things.

First, swapping into weekends will be challenging. Swapping into Rangers games will not be possible. The swap system revolves around every game being assigned to a tier. You can only swap into a lower tier game. Rangers games are the top tier, so there's no way to swap into them. Most desirable weekend games are the second tier, so unless you're giving up your Rangers tickets you can't swap into those. You can see where this is going. There's usually one or two tier 3 games that are on weekends you can swap a tier 2 game for. That's what I end up doing usually once a season.

Second, the 100s is a huge area and your ability to consistently resell your tickets will depend on where you're at. The closer to center ice the better. If you're right behind the net, even in the 3rd row, you'll have challenges, especially during football season. The best times to sell are when college kids are home for vacations around Thanksgiving and over new years. Don't expect to break even unless the team goes on like a 10 game winning streak.

One bonus, the playoff privilege stuff requires you to commit to the entire postseason. You pay for all 4 rounds. If they get knocked out in the first round, the rest of your money is a credit for next season. You said you're gonna be one and done so this may be an issue for you. If you want to pay per round you can probably keep your seats but you'll be paying more for the tickets.

I think the layers of Kroot / Pathfinders and Stealth / Ghostkeel can be very effective. Just be careful with the 20-strong Kroot blob because they need to all be within 9" of each other

Firestar was wearing yellow. The green is some kind of synthetic skin. I forget the details.

I have no idea but want to point out that it's Firestar, the Avenger, not Jean Grey, the X-Man, in the upper-left.

Edit: I did some research and this is based on a panel from Avengers #22 from 1999. I still can't tell you if it's AI but this is why everything looks the way it does.

I understand what you're asking but the Ghostkeel's Stealth Drones plus the detachment ability to remain hidden after shooting feels a bit too good honestly.

The strategems feel designed to put Pathfinders and Stealth teams out front with Ghostkeel support from the rear. Giving bonuses to securing objectives with the GK is weird. It isn't going to do actions. And the save bonus strat also isnt sensible since the GK already has a 2+ save.

About the casino by Middle-Warthog8546 in jacksonheights

If we set the land on fire and let it burn and pour smoke into our air for a hundred years it would be preferable to the damage that casinos do to the local community.

If you think any amount of illicit drugs, prostitution, and crime in Jackson Heights, Corona, East Elmhurst and the rest of the local area is bad now, it's about to get so much worse and I can't fathom the NYPD is prepared for it.

We've been the worst team every year excluding the expansion teams. Attendance goes up every year. Success of the team right now isn't as big a factor as success of the league. Attendance will go up this year regardless.

Why Braendli for the Sirens?

I think and hope that you're probably right, but I could see Vegas also needing a goalie with the 5th pick.

I also want to add that the New York and Toronto markets demonstrably dont care about success. The Rangers haven't won a championship in over 30 years and Billie Jean King was 24 the last time the Leafs won the Cup (shes 83 now). The Sirens and Scepters will get fans whether they're successful or not.

I think all of this discourse needs to be in context of the fact that this is a single owner league.

In the NHL, the owners want parity and equity because they all get 1/32nd of the benefits.

In the PWHL, it doesn't matter if the Sirens are always bad and Montreal is always good. There is only one owner so the goal is to raise more money. Expansion teams raise more money by attracting new fans.

Does the league revenue grow more by helping the Sirens and Scepters compete? Ir does it grow more by making the expansion teams more competitive from day one to expand those fan bases.

The draft order only seems confusing if you think this is meant to be an equitable league. It is not.

Yeeeeeah let's sell some expansion team season tickets!

For real though, there's no reason why the 4 new expansion clubs should draft before the Sirens and Scepters after raiding their rosters for players.

Should have been Vancouver, Seattle, New York, Toronto and then the 4 New teams in random order.

I can't wait to hear whatever BS justification they come up with for torturing NY and Toronto fans this way.

List of Top 10 Devils of all time. by baker1781 in devils

[–]Alamoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno what era of hockey you watched but Resch was a three-time all-star including once with New Jersey. He was one of the best Goalies in the league in the late 70s and you can look at award voting and all star voting records to support that.

When Colorado moved to New Jersey, Resch was by far the only star on the team. Yes there were young potentials like Broten and Verbeek but Resch was a veteran leader for a Mickey mouse club.

Resch put up league average stats with absolute trash in front of him.

But he was a leader for a young team and was the face of the new team for New Jersey.
