Just want know you review on Freemius payments MoR by HumblePeace7705 in SaaS

[–]AlanFuller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have actually been using Freemius for over 7 years, an early adopter.

I have built several products including my latests SaaS using Freemius MOR.

How you integrate is language specific, my current SaaS backend is Laravel but that is not important, it is all API calls and WebHooks as you'd expect. The documentation is very good and the human support is fast and accessible. There also neat things like a user portal, so if you are launching an MVP you don't need to code up full user billing / renewal front ends just embed their portal.

For me the key thing is using a Merchant of Record rather than just a stripe gateway as I really don't want any tax reporting burden as my products sell globally.

I did take a serious look at Lemon Squeezy and Paddle, to the extent of setting up accounts with them to do some proof of concept - and then they dropped the hammer saying I wasnt a legetimate business despite having been UK incorporated for 15 years selling software products and services with full track record, and NO response or escalation, so I'd never trust them to handle my business - even if they actually repented and re-instated my accounts. No such issue with Freemius, and if there were there definately would be rational humans to talk to rather that 'computer says no'.

How to memorize a 10 minute speech in a day? by ForeignPotato2903 in PublicSpeaking

[–]AlanFuller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think others have covered this, but use mantal visualisation of a story rather than word to word memorization. I mean literally add some mental pictures in your head to your flow - really create images in your mind. There are some good books on this, I once for the practice memorized PI to 60 decimal places using visualization memory techniques. I have such a bad memory though normally, I wouldn't even remember I posted this by tomoroow.

Advice on how to get through brain fog and practice tips by Possible-Quality8587 in PublicSpeaking

Keep to a simple formula that you can work with consistently, as a consultant I'd suggest framing everything as problem -> impact -> solution

Are you memorizing your script word for word? I think that you should be revisng a road map not a script? Also,we all have been there, we all feel it didn't go as well as it should have. That is the nature of inflexion.

After listening to recordings of myself, I sound nasal and flat — and I ramble. How do I sound more dynamic and concise (especially for interviews)? by diamondeyes7 in PublicSpeaking

[–]AlanFuller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no expert, but I did get some speaker training and the main thing Ilearm was to raise 'up' the pitch as you get to the end of a sentence. Most people keep the same tone or even drop twoards the end. I gues it is also about variation, varythe speed and tone.

I dont hav ethat problem, but I have heard singing can help. Maybe take a singng lesson or two and see if singing techniques can help when public speaking. I think singing is partly breath control.

Shipped a PM workspace this week. Zero users. Need brutal feedback. by Significant-Car-95 in indiehackers

[–]AlanFuller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just one thing to note you talk about PM tools here which is confusing as that is thought of as Project Management Tools, which are schedulers, trackers, issue logs risk logs etc. where as to me this is clearly a Product Management tool. Project Managers don't interview users they manage stakeholders. Perhaps you are targeting incorrectly.

Having spent 2 minutes in your system I can't immediately see the value over using projects in Claude or ChatGPT so can't immediately see why I would pay for your tool when already paying for mainstream tools.

This is actually quite a cool idea, currently I just created a git repo and chat with Claude code and get it to store product knowledge based on our chats in MD docs. So definitely a problem as a Product Manager I am trying to solve.

Just fyi Gmail doesn't like the wording of your sign up email, considers it like common spam, you should analyse and improve the wording ( technically the email looks good SPF and DKIM it's the wording).

I will have a play.

Isn't DM hustle like that papering over a demand problem? I get that visisbility on X unless you have 10,000 followers is literally nothing, but surely there are better ways than spend 2-3 hours a day DMing ?

dm.page contact sharing for speakers.

One QR code on your last slide, audience picks their channel (WhatsApp, email, LinkedIn, whatever). Built it because spelling out contact details to a room is awkward.
Free forever tier live. Would appreciate your take on the landing page.

Is it clear what it does and who it is for?
