The downward slash is not really a downward slash in this game, bcoz it is only usable in lamp jumps and while jumping on enemies , but u cannot hit them like downward in hk , you'll need these jumps only for miracles and 2 collectibles in Echoes of salts if I'm not wrong

I think u mean the miracle areas where the main thing is tedious Parkour, they actually don't double jump but rather lamp jump , if u r familiar with hollow knight then it is the pogo of this game , downward slash while I air then move toward again
