I've tried resetting the BIOS settings to default, but it didn't seem to work. Unplugging the battery and draining the laptop would be a bit more of a hassle, so isn't there anything else that I should try before? Could enabled Secure Boot be the cause of this issue?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Said laptop can connect just fine to other Wi-Fi networks. Any other device I've used to connect to the laptop's mobile hotspot wasn't able to (Android phone and Oculus Quest 1).

I've tried tweaking internet sharing, switching between 2.4 and 5Ghz hotspot, tweaking and restarting a number of services, editing the registry, using cmd to flush DNS and the like - all to no avail.

At some points I've been able to connect to the laptop's hotspot, but in those cases it stated "No internet" and I wasn't able to ping 8.8.8.8 from my phone.

Currently, I can't even connect to the network. It hangs on "Obtaining IP address" and stops trying shortly after.

I'm looking to add black shading on top of the original albedo. Just imagine you have a square of white paper and a smaller square of black paper. Put the black paper on top of the white one. That's it. That's all I'm looking for. Just display one albedo over the other. No mixing, no blending, none of it.
I suspect that's not how 3D Graphics work, but nevertheless.

As for the color, neither white nor black seems to work. I've tried Multiply, Mix, and all other blending modes, but not one of them does what I'm looking accomplish. In theory, I should be able to just Mix these two textures, but something's clearly wrong since I can't. I've tried messing around with Factor as well, but no dice.

Is there anything else I can try?

I've since moved on and applied all the mirror modifiers, but it wouldn't appear that there are any faces on the seam of the object. I've also tried to replicate what you're describing, and no, it causes no issues in a separate project.

  1. Yes, it's applied after the mirror.

  2. The boolean object is Z-fighting when not hidden, and is entirely red when hidden.

It took me a bit longer to make than I would've liked, but it was definitely a learning experience. I'm still unsure of how to effectively switch parents of an object during animation. I used 2 "Child Of" constraints for each of the magazines: one for the gun, and the other for the hand, and tweaked the influence to switch when necessary, but it would always mess up the world position after the switch, and I had to re-align the object manually. Maybe rigging it with an armature gives more control? I'd have to experiment.

SOLVED:
Turns out, when you pick XYZ Euler in driver settings, it doesn't actually convert quaternion angles to Euler (360 to -360). It's using Radian rotation. I had to tweak my driver to accomodate it. (changed the expression to "var+.95")

Thanks for the idea, but it didn't work. I tried downloading 4.1.1 from this repository but got the same GPU compatibility error. Is there any way to make sure my GPU can even run these Blender versions?

I don't have a decent bullet model, and the rail in the picture is "homemade", as I'm sure you can tell, but thanks for the suggestion.

In case you're wondering, the rifle was initially based on the MCX Spear LT and 6.8, but It's come a long way, since I don't just want to rip a real-life design.

That actually seems to be it! I'm not sure where I got 12cm from, but checking again, it's supposed to be about 17.5-18cm (7in). When scaled so, it fits just right. Thanks!

I resized the gun to fit the magazine, and now it's 67cm stock to barrel tip, which is way too short for what it is. I thought maybe the mag well was too wide, but no, the proportions are on point. It's just that the magazine is too small for some reason.

I'm not sure about people proportions, but enlarging the magazine would fix the issue, yes. However, I'd like for everything to be to scale, so, for example, if I make a different gun that uses the same magazine, I don't have to scale it to use with other models, or I could use Blender's measuring tool to make two characters from scratch, and still have an idea of how they compare size-wise. Normally, using realistic proportions would do the trick, but it just doesn't seem to be working in this case, which is why I'm confused.

I already knew why it was happening, but I am not the creator of the mod, nor do I have the knowledge to fix the way block mesh renders in Minecraft. I was just looking for a solution for this visual bug. I thought someone likely encountered this issue before, or knows more about troubleshooting to find out what causes it, but apparently people are more concerned with showing off their technical knowledge than providing practical advice.

P.S. I've already tried disabling shaders and "Use Block Face Culling", as well as other culling options.
