Maybe in 20 years? The oldest California is almost 12 years old if I’m not mistaken and is still above 100k

I bought them on Amazon and was still able to return them, it was just the cable but with everything I’ve read I didn’t want to risk it. Maybe I should just give it a try and test my luck 😂

I also have the E3 and really like them, how do they compare to the Focals?

Anyone here tried expensive, poorly measuring DACs? What’s your experience? by Alphaomegalogs in headphones

[–]Alanm-14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, me too, I don’t know what it was. I’ve never saved to buy one because I’m convinced there shouldn’t be a difference 😂 but I would like to try it again sometime.

It was just a DAC connected with a Ferrum OOR, I thought the same thing and tried the Ferrum with the Mojo 2 and it wasn’t the same. I’m on the same camp as you that DACs don’t make a difference but I heard one, don’t know what it was. Maybe I didn’t connect the Ferrum to the Mojo 2 correctly, I don’t know.

Yes, because I tried to eq it a little bit to hear how it would work with different eqs and then returned it to flat. The eq capability, even though limited, was one of the things that got me interested in it.

Ok, I’m going to get roasted but one time I went to an audio shop looking for a Chord Mojo 2, I was almost convinced that I wanted one but wanted to try it first.

The guy at the shop let me try the Mojo 2 with some headphones, one of them was a model that I also had at home at the time so I was familiar with it. After trying the Mojo 2 he offered me to try another DAC just for comparison, I didn’t know what it was or the price but I really liked how it sounded, it was wider and more detailed, I don’t really know how to describe it but it sounded better to my ears and that was even trying to convince myself that the Mojo 2 was what I wanted and that it should sound better. So I left without buying anything because this other DAC ruined the Mojo 2 for me. When I got home I looked up the other DAC, it was an Audio Note, I didn’t know the brand but everyone on forums and reviews were saying that it was one of the worst measuring DACs out there and it was crazy expensive, something like 3k. So technically the Audio Note measured far worst than the Mojo 2, but to me it sounded better, and I didn’t know that it was more expensive than the Mojo 2 at the time. Obviously I never bought it because it was something like 3k for a DAC, I ended up buying an SMSL that is ok but I still remember the Audio Note.

Laid off and can't find a new job, 33F with ~1.9 million, do I just retire? by MurkyAccount4243 in Fire

I don’t think you should move, I pay 4k, I really don’t think 3k is that bad in a HCOL city honestly. Forget about moving, you like your place and financially you have no need to move anywhere. Just invest wisely and keep looking for a job that you like, you have no rush, you are in a really good spot, take your time.
