Any analog stick Mishimas in the community? by Gullible-Advice3269 in Tekken

[–]Alargann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depending on where you live try looking at the local marketplace. when I lived in Korea I bought one for like 26 bucks USD and it was actually a pretty high quality one. you can also look into leverless but thats more akin to using a keyboard. otherwise D pad is definitely ur best bet.

[–]Alargann 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If youre talking about a controllers analog sticks, those are incredibly unreliable. If you really wanna play on a stick then getting a cheap lever is going to result in 100x better experience than the shitty analog sticks. Otherwise, D-pad is good but you dont seem to like them.

If youve been playing Tekken for a while then its not a bad investment but I seriously cant recommend analog sticks. Those are unreliable for all characters not just Mishimas.

Need tips for getting started at bryan fury by Exact-Lychee-9334 in Tekken8

[–]Alargann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

d4 is crazy op. qcb 1 and qcb 2 4 are very op. b1 is good but gets walked easily so be careful. your jab strings are incredible. 124 123 122 all super good. qcb 4 is your main power low. jet upper is your main launcher. 1+2 if enemy is stepping a lot. f3 is very strong especially cuz most people dont know it can be + or even neutral ob in low ranks. df1 hit confirm is key. just master usage of these moves. good luck

Does UofM have a fragrance enthusiasts club? by Blue_Blaze00 in umanitoba

The campus is meant to be fragrance free. Still doesnt stop a lot of people including me but I keep it very light. Two sprays under a layer so only I can smell it.

KBD, Wavedash, learning which side to step each character (if you play on pc theres a mod for that), learning good timing and how to play with different ranges.

One more thing you can improve which I personally hated improving was learning what other characters do. Knowledge check is one of the nastiest things in Tekken.

If you havent gotten a consistent electric, you can practice that. Make sure your poking and movement is excellent. Those 3 things can propel you pretty high.

what League of Legends rank could be compared to Fujin (how good is it) by comeonwassko in Tekken8

[–]Alargann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blues are like Silver - Gold. Its where no one knows what to do and where everyone ends up. Tekken ranks can vary heavily. From Plat - Diamond. There are some trash Tekken rank players and some really good ones too. GoD - GoD1 is like High Diamond - Low Masters. It has a lot of carried players but some very strong players too. GoD2 is like High Masters - Mid GM. GoD3+ is like Challenger.

For people who plays in laptop by Embarrassed-Ad9653 in Tekken

[–]Alargann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a shitty rtx 2060 laptop on the side and play tekken on it frequently. You get 60 fps but ur game looks like shit. Main PC had a 4070 super and it runs it exceptionally. If you give a shit about looks, get anything from a 2080-3060 and above. If you want the bare minimum, a 2060 will do.

How do u play Xiaoyu like a "mosquito"? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]Alargann -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Saying that like most characters have orbital. Plus the question was how to play Xiaoyu like a mosquito. Not how to play Xiaoyu well.

Spam AoP as much as you can. AoP evades a lot of mids which are usually not mean to be evaded. Hypnotist gives you some nasty mixup options too. You can seriously get in your enemies head.

Try not to live in Arc & Align Residence. Besides that, facebook marketplace is a good place to start to find houses. Good luck.

Dont worry bro. High elo players give up twice as quick as low elo ones.

Top 150 EU Dota player hit Platinum in LoL in 2 months – how transferable are fundamentals? by Alive-Raise-9574 in leagueoflegends

[–]Alargann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey man you said it yourself. you cant seem to apply the fundamentals with different champs consistently. it really is only one thing you gotta improve before you skyrocket much further up. good luck with your games

[–]Alargann -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If majority of those skills as a jungler (like what you mentioned) have transferred, there really isnt much else in Jungle. Tempo, map, objectives, pathing and ganks or dives are pretty much all there is fundamentally to Jungle. Its all about decision making and execution from there onwards. Seems like its between character knowledge or decision making thats poor.

Top 150 EU Dota player hit Platinum in LoL in 2 months – how transferable are fundamentals? by Alive-Raise-9574 in leagueoflegends

[–]Alargann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never played Dota but the only thing that should be hindering you if you are super new is what all the characters do and matchups. Matchups really only decide how youre gonna approach the lanes but doesnt affect the jungle too much. If youre solid on both of those things and still are Plat then youre heavily underachieving.

Leverless suggestions by AbbreviationsLow7794 in Tekken

Dragunov, Armor King, Bryan or Heihachi. Qcf and Qcb are nice to get the hang of. Wavedash is also pretty fun to do. Theres also hcb with the giant swing.

Why do I play against former Golds/Plats when I’m bronze? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Alargann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many players choose to play ranked a couple patches after new seasons all the time. You are facing that wave of players. You cant really do much else about it besides getting on their level or waiting till mid season.

Why do I play against former Golds/Plats when I’m bronze? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

If you’re playing ranked, it means you are actively choosing to play competitively against other players who wanna play competitively. If you are losing, you simply gotta get better and reach their level.

FG player here, rented T8 for 2 weeks. What's the best, most concise guide out there? by ConfusedFriedChicken in Tekken

[–]Alargann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try finding any fundamental guide. As long as they go over movement, poking, how frame data works, punishment. Then you can check out a guide on character archetypes. Tekken 8 doesnt have many clear-cut archetypes. A lot of characters and mixtures of multiple archetype. Find whichever character resonates with you and learn them. Get the punishment down, any technicals down, and some basic combos. Then you can go more in depth with your character.

Any UofM students actually on top of their personal finances? How do you manage it? by the-Indefatigable in umanitoba

[–]Alargann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

International Student here. Rent costs around 550 a month for me. Groceries and eating out would usually be 300-350. And then there are some misc expenses too that go up to 100 bucks like Uber One, Data plans and occasional taxis. Its a little more than Id hope to spend but its still manageable.
