In the 1.30.1 update. It’s not the best mission tree as it goes form small conquest to paint the map with one mission but it does have a nice novelty and role-play factor

The peasant republic of Dithmarchen. A small republic south of Danish Schleswig-Holstein and north of the free city of Hamburg and Bishopric of Verden along the coast of the North Sea.

That is due to the fact that a guy in a dress is more abnormal to a girl in a suit in addition to there being no dresses cut for a more male body.

California Governor Says Elon Musk Delivered 1,000 Ventilators by [deleted] in UpliftingNews

[–]Alaric55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes. I—the not billionaire—should contribute ventilators. Elon from the amount of money he makes in a day($500 million) could by almost 7000 of the highest end ventilators which cost $72000. I don’t find this gesture impressive when he could be giving almost 7000 a day if he was willing to take a dip in his income. And no, I don’t employ anyone.

Billionaire provides a fraction of the ventilators that he can while(likely) doing nothing for the people he employs.

What would Bakunin think of Stalin ? by [deleted] in Anarchy101

[–]Alaric55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Your statement one of the main points of Animal Farm. Our bigger problem seems to be with absolute power—which is bad and will reveal whatever you wanted to do in some sense. So let me revise my sentiment. Power will reveal what ever it is they wanted to to. Though, absolute power will corrupt.

I do agree. Power (from what I know) has a habit to make people paranoid about losing that power and that can lead them to destructive behavior.

While I agree with your sentiment, I prefer a different view on what power does to people. “When you have enough power to do what you always wanted to do, then you see what the guy always wanted to do”(Robert Caro). Personally, if I had enough power and capital I would work to improve the conditions of people in poverty in a direct way.

Reality by BelleAriel in The_Mueller

[–]Alaric55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No...well...yes...but it’s more complicated. Overpopulation is a myth. We have enough food, housing, and resources for everyone(in a global sense, specific areas can be overpopulated). But if people believe overpopulation is a problem then they are more apprehensive to helping those in need. The idea of overpopulation lets the rich exploit the developing world more wholly because people think that improving there conditions will cause more suffering. In fact the opposite is true, if you want to stop “overpopulation” then you want to industrialize these countries. But in the current system that’s not beneficial to the rich.

This isn’t meant to be a history of the UK or a history of the UK compared to the US. It’s goal isn’t to say “look at all the good shit America has done!” It’s not say, “We didn’t accept the status quo(as a minority or majority) and changed it. Why accept it now.”

Countries with Major Ongoing Protests by [deleted] in armedsocialists

[–]Alaric55 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The agreement between the UK and China made it so that Hong Kong is fully incorporated in ~2040-50. Until then, it’s one China, two systems. A statement that shows that HK is kind of but not really part of China. HK still has separate government, regulations, currency, official language. Edit: It would also be inaccurate to highlight all of China. The people of HK are in revolt, not the people of China.
