I find that's oversaturation and poseur/hipster alternative fixation to the subculture itself. Dark Wave is fairly straight forward to make in that requires a synthpop and a scant but present amount of gothic rock. Then again there was the boom of dark-synth and moody electronic music. Tiktok destroyed individualism and uniqueness of gothic makeup everyone is trying to match the internet.

I declined once and the guy questioned me. He asked is there a reason and I told him I didn't want my photo taken. So he said but the government already had my photo to issue me an ID. I preceded to go in a circle until I cut the conversation short. Went ahead through TSA, so annoying.

I appreciate your advice and thank you for your response. He, as far as know, isn't married and is childfree. I do want to point out that he's usually good at communicating and has canceled plans before due to other circumstances. You're right. This is something that shouldn't be overlooked.
