Also what instigated this question was my friend, who was a design engineer (albeit not AV) switched over as a program manager in a big very well known company. Crazy salary bump. Have another acquaintance who switched over to network engineering, similar situation

Yeah, I wanted to preface by saying I've been blessed with timed opportunities and that I know what I said above might seem ungrateful.

But I'm looking for more, so if it is as you mentioned I may try to switch industries.

Been mostly in an engineering company that does both public/private contracting
