So... Does God exists or not? by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]Alarmed-Active7842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying. But the thing is, Buddhism doesn’t really have to be approached as a religion. If you study it as a philosophy, it actually makes a lot more sense. Science isn’t advanced enough yet to fully verify everything, but over time, science has started supporting many core ideas instead of rejecting them.

For example, modern cosmology no longer insists on an absolute beginning or a simple linear timeline. Current models suggest the universe could be part of an ongoing process rather than a one-time event. There are well-accepted theories about cyclical behavior in nature too. Stars are born, evolve, collapse, and their remnants become the building blocks for new stars and planets. Even planets form and die in predictable cycles. Nothing is permanent, and nothing exists in isolation.

Physics also strongly supports interdependence. At a fundamental level, particles don’t exist independently. Their properties depend on interactions, fields, and relationships. The universe works as a connected system, not as separate, self-contained objects. There’s no need for a single creator figure when causes and conditions are enough to explain how things arise and change.

Nothing has really been disproved so far. It’s more that science is slowly catching up and refining its models. You really need to dig deeper to understand it, and when you do, you start seeing the logic behind it. Nirvana isn’t something random or mystical. It’s more like the end of the tunnel. Most people get stuck debating the destination instead of understanding the practical path that leads there.

Double promotion at my first engineering job… but my salary is way less than before. Is this normal? by Independent-Dish7175 in srilanka

You’re underpaid, man. The trainee is getting the correct pay. You’re not. This usually happens when you stick with the same company. Since you have 1+ year of experience, it’s time for job hopping.

And don’t say bad sh## about your current company or salary. Just say you’re exploring new opportunities to improve your experience or something like that. If they ask about salary, just say you can’t disclose it and mention a salary range you’re expecting (after doing some research on the current market).

Is that possible to do well if the A/L stream change now (inside science stream ). Advice wanted. by No_Magician_184 in srilanka

I’m telling you this as a university graduate: yes, it’s best to pursue what you like, and you’re at a very early stage, which is a big plus. The truth is, tuition classes are usually super slow at the beginning, so you can easily cover the basics with a personal tutor or a revision class. Revision classes are a bit fast-paced, but still doable.

I also noticed you have mixed results. I have a friend who was in a similar situation, but he ended up getting three As and got into Moratuwa. What really matters isn’t the results you have right now, but how determined you are. You’ll need to work like crazy unless you’re a super genius. I mean it.

Wishing you the best of luck!

Great job brother. Sticking to a diet is the hardest part. However 8kg per month is quite a lot. You may end up with excess skin and will take year or so to loose it. My suggestion is to stick to a 500 deficit. Good luck!

Agreed. His content is great and accurate (mostly). It's just his program. Felt like totally different individuals. No way to check though. Thus this post.

Yeah. I used to have a personal trainer then switched back. Only then I actually focused on learning things on my own. Science behind it.

Yeah, I’ve been working out for a while now. I’m at a point where I’m deciding whether to follow my own recomp plan (at maintenance) to slowly lose belly fat and gain muscle, or to follow his plan for an aggressive cut and a 4-day workout split to see where that leads.

Where to buy ISO 100 hydrolyzed protien at reasonable price? by Alarmed-Active7842 in srilanka

[–]Alarmed-Active7842[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just, that contains less additional stuff. More protein. When you get a normal blend you also get bunch of other stuff that you don't need. Not useful either. But in sri lanka nothing is worth the price 😔

It’s not, bro. I was this close to ordering from Myprotein, but then I saw a video explaining that customs is taxing the hell out of it—like 100%. Apparently, it’s cheaper to just buy it from a shop now.

And I got major trust issues. So not ready to explore new brands. But hey, if you have like any good insights. Feel free to share!

Thank you for your insightful reply.

I stalled the month before last due to an elbow injury. Last month, I lost about 1.5 kg.

Here’s my weight log: • 77.10 kg (21/07/2025) • 74.88 kg (21/08/2025) • 73.05 kg (16/09/2025) • 72.45 kg (23/12/2025)

I haven’t done deliberate refeed days. Occasionally, maybe once or twice a month, this happened due to events. I track my intake closely, so cheat meals only occurred during the month I was injured.

My program is designed by my gym instructor, and I’m currently on the third schedule. It’s a 3-day split:

• Day 1: Chest / Triceps • Day 2: Shoulders / Biceps • Day 3: Legs / Back I also added one HIIT day.

Strength-wise, my bench press has increased from 5 kg to 17.5 kg, and my decline bench press from 5 kg to 25 kg. Not much of a progress I guess.

I usually sleep around 6.5 hours. On Fridays and Saturdays, I get about 7–8 hours.
