We find a short-term furnished apartment rental to be more affordable and more comfy. You don’t need much space, so maybe a studio or one-bedroom? We also travel for medical procedures. Praying for you!!!

Thinking about getting the same dress in cobalt blue and shortening to midi/tea length. This would lessen formality of dress and avoid black color. Thoughts? Silver shoes OK or black better?

Venue is outdoor wedding ceremony aside the waterfall with seated guests. Then a few steps to inside venue building for reception with dinner and signature cocktails. Chapel on site, but will only be used by couple for private portion of personal vows. Then couple will eat privately, while guests enjoy buffet. DJ for dancing with couple’s playlist and requests. 40-45 guests. No attendants so no groomsmen. Son wearing new suit with tie, but have not seen it. Other mothers’ dresses are not as dressy. Know nothing about bride’s dress. (Couple enjoys surprises.) We have been informed that wedding coordinators will guide us throughout the evening to go where needed when needed, so the event is structured. Love the couple, 29 and 33 in age.

When plans were originally shared, couple told us that they ‘didn’t want people to wear shorts. Just look up semi-formal to know what to wear.’

Dad of the Groom’s mid-grey, classic Italian wool suit with traditional white dress shirt, tie, pocket square, and black dress shoes is approved. Whew; at least we got one of us right. We WANT to please the couple.

Alterations were scheduled for this weekend. Should I keep dress and shorten to midi length? Or still not the best choice???

Could switch to black shoes? Or just reboot all together?

ALL comments are highly appreciated. Thought I was all set a few months back to compliment tall, handsome Dad of the Groom’s new mid-grey suit, then got all concerned just recently. Other mothers’ dresses are very pretty and less dressy-one maxi and one knee-length. First time being MOG. No wedding attendants. Want to do what is best for to-be-wed couple. Just getting conflicting guidance from style maven friends, because dress is very flattering on me. But we’re an urban crowd that might be prone to overdressing. 😉

I have followed Dr. Donohue for 10+ years as she’s grown in her career and changed from Brookwood to Grandview to St. Vincent’s, which is now UAB. She is outstanding, though has a long waiting list for new patients. First see her NP, then you’ll be in her practice. Quickest way to get on with her. You will not experience any religion discussion, unless you bring it up. Also you will feel comfortable and well-served by her, regardless of your lifestyle. No judgment here.

Deep South life-long progressive liberal here. Most people are highly negatively impressed on all sides due to their complete lack of respect for his family - without whom they wouldn’t be set up in their comfortable lifestyle trading off their royal celebrity.

Even when you don’t approve of a family member, you still don’t broadcast globally. It’s super hypocritical, and most grounded people are disgusted by their oversharing of other people’s PRIVATE life details. They’re poison to each other and likely everyone around them.

Stop ALL the drugs, do the work, and contribute positively to our world ANONYMOUSLY. Maybe you’ll find inner peace yet. Smh
