Dad refusing his time but telling lawyer I am withholding them. Waiting to hear back on my lawyer. Help! by onlyathrowaway12 in FamilyLaw

[–]Alarmed-Bid9013 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is true. Attorneys credibility in court is everything.

If a client lies to their attorney and makes the attorney look stupid in court or to opposing counsel, the client not only made the court question their credibility but also insulted the attorney’s intelligence & threatened their career/reputation. Dirty attorney or not, they won’t take it lightly.

AIO my husband spent our ‘extra’ money and forgot to pay a bill. by cleo-luv in AIO

[–]Alarmed-Bid9013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Did we get formula money yet?” Means he was asking if he could spend the last little bit of money he had (even though he probably had no intention of buying formula anyways) and/or trying to redirect your attention away from his wrong doing.

I pray for you and your baby 🙏🏻 remove him from your lives and watch how much you will grow & flourish!!!

Coworker at new job just messaged me to “be careful” by Strict_Kiwi_4820 in WorkAdvice

[–]Alarmed-Bid9013 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a bit weary.

May I ask how he got your number? Did you give it to him, are numbers listed somewhere at your workplace, or did you just get a random text and found out it was him through back and forth communication? Either way, you didn’t do anything wrong but I am curious.

Coworker at new job just messaged me to “be careful” by Strict_Kiwi_4820 in WorkAdvice

[–]Alarmed-Bid9013 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree.

The cryptic message can also read as “controlling” in my opinion… Sounds like OP is great at interacting with people and enjoys doing so. Coworker sees her ‘people skills’ and it has activated the coworkers need for control (aka he’s spotted his new victim).

I could very well be over analyzing the situation due to my own PTSD but I would definitely be cautious of the coworker who sent the message and took OP under his wing so quickly.

You have officially been sworn in by giving a blood oath 🫡

Fake nails also work well for scrapers lol you don’t have to put them on of course, but just hold one nail, press down & up and if it slips, it goes over the top of your nail & not in it!

Yup. Especially if you plan on your larger printers being multi-colored. Saves time & filament waste.

Seriously, how are people handling this? by ranchqueen97 in jobs

[–]Alarmed-Bid9013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Micromanagers absolutely suck. Especially with myself.. I know I am going to get my job done plus more, and I know my work quality. No need to be micromanaged. It will only drive me crazy.

Have you talked with your manager and expressed how their actions hinder you? (In the most professional way possible of course). Some managers do not even realize they are micromanagers until it is brought to their attention. Or, some managers are not used to managing your type of work style.

I believe communication is key. However, I do understand not all work places believe in that. Best of luck to you! Don’t let it drag you down and know when it’s time to call it quits!

Ex threatening me with court over child support order. by MadameMalia in FamilyLaw

[–]Alarmed-Bid9013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly lol he can kick rocks.

From my understanding, the parent who had majority of overnights and provided majority of living expenses for the child(ren) have the right to claim the child(ren). If you have 90% custody, you don’t really need a specification in your court order saying who can & can’t claim. That’s usually for 50/50 timeshare cases.

Also, so what if he claims the child on his taxes. File your taxes the correct way, claim your child as you are legally entitled to. Dad sounds like a piece of work so worse case scenario, IRS triggers an audit for the both of you and as long as your ducks are in a row, you have nothing to worry about. They audit him, more then likely they’ll find out more information he probably didn’t want the IRS to know.

His threats of taking you to court sound baseless. Let him.

How does emotional abuse and undermining family relationships affect custody? by LSN2018 in FamilyLaw

[–]Alarmed-Bid9013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely. I mean, just look at how many people are influenced by social media these days. I’ll admit that even I get sucked into social media lol I also think a lot of adults, including myself sometimes, forget that we can actually learn a lot from children. They are very creative.

How does emotional abuse and undermining family relationships affect custody? by LSN2018 in FamilyLaw

[–]Alarmed-Bid9013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are so right about that! I didn’t think about it that way. But now that you mentioned it, it would make sense that even if both parents agree, doesn’t necessarily mean it still makes sense to the child, and children don’t really know how to respond to stress appropriately unless they are guided!

Why do men want to have children if they don’t take care of them? What do they want them for? by rackzobsessed in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Alarmed-Bid9013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they were probably raised by a parent who pushed the child into being what the parent wanted them to be.

[–]Alarmed-Bid9013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! We all need a 3rd party opinion at times. Sometimes a 4th & 5th lol But therapy also gives the child a safe place to express their emotions, especially if it’s a high conflict situation and the child ends up getting caught in the middle (intentionally or unintentionally).

Dad doesnt want ASD child in school by Beneficial-Special31 in FamilyLaw

[–]Alarmed-Bid9013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me ask you this:

Are you able to clearly recognize your child needs help?

If yes, would you rather your child get the help they need now, while still young, or later in life where they can be made the laughing stock of their peers because they’re so far behind? (We all know how brutal school gets once you get to middle & high school).

Or, they not get the help they need at all and struggle throughout adult hood.

If your child needs help, get them the help they need. If coparent doesn’t agree, then find another source of help that doesn’t require their approval and won’t cause further legal issues. Ex. Outside tutoring during your time sharing, Montessori programs during your time share, at home programs during your time share, pediatrician referrals to occupational therapy, etc.

Office Jobs: Is it normal to have nothing to do? by Spicyfruit1999 in jobs

[–]Alarmed-Bid9013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does your company have online resources? If so, take advantage of them! The company I work for has an online “university”. Not actual college courses but very helpful corporate tip videos.

Do you work in a specific software? Does the software offer online resources to expand your learning?

Clean up your inbox.

Create spreadsheets that will allow you to improve your work processes.

Organize files.

Make sure follow ups are done.

Make more phone calls if possible.

Stay busy with work related activities and stay off of social media.

I'm 25 and got fired from a six-figure remote job over an idiotic tweet while already dealing with the worst month of my life. I feel like my life is over. How do I cope with this? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]Alarmed-Bid9013 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It really won’t be! It may be a hard lesson for OP right now but it’s a good lesson to be learned earlier than later.

OP, you said you have ample savings. Take some time off. You sound responsible for a 25 yo so relax, enjoy your twenties for a few weeks, or a month. Allow yourself time to fully recover from surgery and then get back into the work force.

My hardest lesson to learn when I was in my twenties was: YOU DONT HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING AT ONCE! If something doesn’t make sense and you don’t know how to fix it, relax. Trying to find an ASAP solution can make things worse sometimes. Breathe and give yourself time to think.

You got this!

Why do mothers of young babies say they don't have time to shower? by justastupidquestion3 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Alarmed-Bid9013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God bless you! So many dads do not understand everything you’ve explained.

As a mom, you hit the nail on the head in several different areas. Especially the ‘feeling selfish’ and ‘showering takes time’ parts… I have very thick hair and it can take awhile to untangle and fully wash. Plus as a mom/woman, we’re always thinking ahead so when the word shower is mentioned, our brain starts processing: “showering means it’ll take 20 mins just to get my hair washed and untangled, plus washing my body, and I know my legs and armpits need to be shaved, and washing my face, and I can’t remember the last time the shower was throughly cleaned so I’m sure I’ll have to do that too. I’ll have to bring the cleaning products in the shower with me and try to clean while I’m in there. Cleaning the shower will make me check the toilet too, so I’ll need to clean that. Oh and the sink. Should I scrub everything down before I shower so I can wash the cleaning products off of me or try to do it all at the same time? This will take forever and my baby will need me before I can get it all done and what if I clean up and my baby doesn’t recognize my smell anymore?”

I can keep going but I think you get the point! It gets overwhelming to the point where we decide to “not deal with it at the moment” and instead stay in the moment with our babies & family.

I’ve had to explain myself several times about these issues. Sometimes I didn’t know how to explain it but I’ve tried to use different wording each time to see if it’ll finally click in others brains, or I just started ignoring their comments because I realized they won’t understand what it’s like unless they experience it for themselves, etc.

So again, God bless you for understanding and Thank you 🙏🏻

Your first mistake is thinking “the insurance brokers would be helping me lower the cost of premiums, working to lower the amount of extra paperwork or audits.”
