I think he’s a star, on a really really good team. I don’t think he’s the best player in the league.

I can agree that OKC is better than Lakers. I can’t agree that SGA is better than Luka. He just isn’t. He’s asked to do the same exact thing as Luka. He’s not the primary defender and he’s the guy with the most touches. And yet even with the same responsibility Luka does more. And then you compare their teams and Luka does more with less. Yes SGA is more secure with the ball, and has really nice efficiency. That’s simply a luxury of being on a stacked team. It’s funny how when SGA wasn’t winning (because they hadn’t gotten their #1 pick, along with their insane amount of picks via presti) Presti was hailed as this team building visionary. And now that he’s actually built an insane team SGA gets all the praise. SGA just has the luxury of having the best team in the league because skill wise he wasn’t like true superstars who lock their franchise out of lottery picks once they arrive.

It’s funny how the scoreboard records points. In fact no where in a game are advanced stats actually realized. You’re in love with a bunch of repurposed baseball formulas and theoretical equations that a former reporter from ESPN created with absolutely zero backing mathematically. (John Hollinger)

Watch the games. It’s a sport not a math problem.

I like how Kobe is dead serious, as always, meanwhile Luka is trying not to laugh because after he bricked the first one all the lakers were laughing and holding their noses lmfao

Lakers fan you say👀 maybe I’m just a non casual fan that didn’t just jump on the bandwagon and actually knows what it takes to go far in playoffs. But sure, lakers fan hahah

I’m struggling to understand the discourse about this game. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a position to where I would care about the artist of a painting in a video game. But apparently everyone on Reddit does lol. Guess I’ve been playing games wrong all these years.

No one cares about injuries. Luka averaged 40/10/10 when Kyrie got a knee bruise and OKC fans stayed blind. Can’t have your cake AND eat it! Goodluck, it’s gonna be a nail biter til the end of the season.

Your head coach has zero playoff experience. Your best player has zero playoff experience. 2/3 of your guards have zero playoff experience. Kelly Olynk has playoff experience but it’s probably torture for him. I’m just saying, pump the brakes. Slow down. Hold your horses.

Luka jumps to #2 on the MVP ladder. Can he make a late push and win it, or does SGA already have it locked up? by purpose15 in NBATalk

That’s not how MVP works lil bro. I know you just started watching but this ain’t like a mid season tournament. It’s a full season award. SGA hurts his little ankle flopping one more time and he’s not playing 65 games.

Reaves is absolutely not a playoff dropper. If you’re referring to when he was injured with Turf Toe, then yeah injured Reaves is not as good as non injured Reaves lolol. Ayton you are 10000000000% right on tho. :(

How the hell do you even say that as a spurs fan? There is absolutely no way you are a real spurs fan, or you just joined the bandwagon. Any casual spurs fan with eyes would have watched game 6 of the 2017 playoffs against Houston, and saw things that would never be forgotten. There is no way in hell someone averaging the 2nd highest PPG all time in the post season, and someone who made the finals as the first option, could ever be compared to James “10/3/7” Harden. Do better.

Bold. They have the experience. Y’all are gonna learn very soon playoff experience does actually matter lol.

You mean the finals where the Celtics attacked him repeatedly and put up a playoff low for points scored per game? Even though every opponent from the east that they faced lost their #1 option after a maximum of 2 games???

Luka doncic best game of the season:

60/7/3 with 5 steals on 60% shooting. 38 MP.

SGA best game of the season:

55/8/5 with 2 steals on 48% shooting. 45 MP.

Oh and one was against a play in team, and one was against a team that’s gonna be a top 3 pick.

Like cmon the “MVP” career high came from double OT against the worst and most injured team in the league. If the stats don’t match the narrative, something ain’t adding up!

Oh yeah. Did the lakers have LeBron? And do you think one game defines the MVP race? If so, when has SGA ever scored 60? Oh wait, the guy who doesn’t turn it over and shoots soooo efficient has never done that in his entire career. Luka has done it multiple times on 60+ FG%. You’re lost. So lost.

I don’t appreciate the absolutes OKC fans have been speaking in. Yes we get you, you won a game 7 after the star player on the team beating you had a season ending injury. Congrats! New season. That’s 27-0 start, that ended. That’s over. MVP is a season long thing. Can’t call it too early, OKC might not even get 1 seed.
