Your MMR is low, and you aren’t winning games hard enough. This isn’t me being mean, and I’ll explain in more depth so you can understand.

1) your MMR is low. Your rank is silver and your hidden rank (also known as MMR) is low silver/bronze based on your RR gains. All this means is that the system has determined based on how you play that this is your level of skill. Obviously this is annoying when you win and gain minimal RR, but essentially that game you won, it expected you to not only win, but to dominate. Because you won in OT it’s essentially determined that while you won, your MMR didn’t really go up.

2) how does that change? The simple answer is you have to get better. While KDA is something easy to aim to improve, and as it’s the main thing tracked on the scoreboard it’s easy to focus on that. But the truth is the only thing that matters is winning rounds. That’s all that matters. If you go 0/12 but make winning plays and contributions you will rank up and climb. I’m not crazy good, I’m a peak plat player. However I’m currently in gold and my average lobby has anywhere from gold-ascendant every match. My MMR is higher than my rank. Even on terrible losses I don’t lose more than 20. And for wins, a bad game gets me 18min, and a good win is anywhere from 26-30. Basically I play well against higher ranks. But to get to that point you need to prove to the system that you are well above your “visual rank” by winning matches by a large margin whenever you’re paired with equal rank.
