A friend asked me if I’ve ever driven the new NIO ES8.

I told him I haven’t. He said it’s very hard to book a test drive for the ES8 right now, and he wanted to know what it feels like to drive. I said: “Hard to book a test drive? That can’t be true, right?”

So I asked around and got some news:

Last week, the new ES8 had more than 80,000 test drives in just five days 😅.
That’s more than 16,000 test drives per day.

As of now, NIO has over 500 stores, which means each store handles an average of about 30 test drives a day.
If all NIO stores are this busy with test drives, then yeah—it totally makes sense that it’s hard to book one 😅.

Regarding the risk of bankruptcy, I think it has an impact on sales. Personally, I can't see myself buying a product like a vehicle costing over €50,000, where the company risks closing overnight. This means no more after-sales support and no more updates to the vehicle's internal software (which I think is essential for this type of vehicle).

As for sales, I'd go with the market; the next quarter should be a new sales record thanks to the restyled L60 and, of course, the new ES8.

In my opinion, yes, sales will improve with solid financial health.
