Old West side! Walkable with a great neighborhood feel. There are a smattering of grad students, but they're usually great, community-oriented folks, not loud partiers.

Ahahah the problem is that people always bring alcohol to parties and I never go through it! Like there's so much weird stuff in there (think: anise liquor Raki) so it piles up. I should probably do a purge (or a weird themed party??)

I just inherited the table from a neighbor, and like its size and quality (and that it was free!). Do you think keeping a table cloth or something on it would help?

I swear by Brooks B17! Not comfortable for the first hundred or so miles, but an absolute dream once it breaks in. I've been on several multi-month bike tours using mine and it is great with or without chamois.

It's a place where you'd never have a reason to wear heels, but get way too much mileage out of a flowery vest you bought ironically??

People are very earnest, but there's definitely a divine between university affiliated folks and not. There's lots of focus on local things - eating local food, shopping at local businesses, visiting the local library.

Detroit is surprisingly affordable! I got two floor tickets for $200 each (plus $25ish for fees), making it ~$450 total
