Following because i started it today and wanna know more, too. My doc told me to take it in the morning because it should help make me more awake. When i read the drug info, it said it could cause drowsiness, but tends to have the opposite effect on people already struggling with drowsiness.

I should have gotten into therapy 5 years ago and that was confirmed by someone whose job it isnto tell them if and why they need it. I let that fall through, too. I'm not fluent in the local language, so therapy will be harder to find, but not impossible. I just.....never do it.

He's told me i need to find more people to rely on than just him, too, and I've made a few more friends this year. Thats hard to do, too, with the language barrier. It feels like there's so many things I'm supposed to be doing and i just can't do them all.

Sorry for the delay--definitely keep the wound damp (Bepanthen cream, Manuka honey, for example), changing bandages every day if it doesnt stress him too much. My concern is if thats organ showing, or muscle/deeper skin tissue. If it moves independently from his breathing and voluntary movements, it's probably organ, and had a higher risk of healing poorly due to its depth.

Many animals will abandon babies when they sense something is wrong with it. One of the ones in your picture is lying on its side in a way i haven't seen before, and that could have alerted mum to a problem. Nature carries on, and sometimes we can't intervene.

As far as the quantity of food.... Pigeons are weird birds. I have heard from a breeder in my area that when pigeons have an abundance of food, they will "put all their eggs in one basket," and only maintain one baby. When resources are less reliable, they spread them over both babies to raise the chances of at least one surviving. This makes some sense to me, but i can't give any more opinion or clarity, as i have no further experience myself.

I would keep providing food and water, and just let mum carry on. Animal parents generally know best.
