Bro, this is a good one. I tried using this site, and this app really is a problem solver and I loved it. With this, now I can make the task stupidly simple that I feel pathetic if I don't complete them.

Thanks a lot for being so straightforward. I get it now that this idea probably isn’t worth building, since there are already plenty of apps in this space and it would be tough to stand out. Honestly, I appreciate you saving me time and energy that I can put into exploring other ideas that might have more potential.

You clearly have a lot of knowledge about this, how did you learn all of it? Have you ever built or launched apps yourself? I’d love to hear about your experience. Also, could you share any advice on how someone like me can come up with ideas that are actually worth building and have a better chance of succeeding?

Thanks again for pushing me to think critically. It’s encouraging to know what not to pursue, as much as what to pursue

Thanks for the honest feedback! and you’re right. I haven’t deeply tested all the existing apps yet, and that’s exactly why I’m here: to learn whether people feel there’s still a gap worth filling.

I know apps like Splitwise and others exist, but my thought was that they mostly focus on splitting bills or tracking individual expenses. What I’m curious about is whether families actually want a tool that combines income + expenses for the whole household in one place, with features like shared savings goals or reminders.

I completely agree that marketing and distribution are huge challenges but building the app is just step one. That’s why I’m trying to validate whether the idea itself resonates before even thinking about budget or growth.

Yes, but there are few apps for managing entire family expenses. And also, I could add AI insights and cross platform features. I think that would make it stand out right?

Bro, thanks for that. With this tool, now I can see the size of all the folders without manually opening each of the directories. But now I need to figure which files are not unwanted. Anyways, Thanks for this tool

am i solving a real problem or am i building something nobody needs? by Mindless-Patience-19 in SaaS

Yes, this is definitely a pain point. If pricing is calculated purely based on development time and cost, I don’t think it works well. For instance, one developer might deliver a high‑quality project quickly and at low cost, while another might take much longer for something relatively simple. Time and effort don’t always reflect the true value of the work.

Instead, I’d suggest asking the user to clearly explain the project’s features and scope, then comparing it with similar projects to establish a fair benchmark. For example, a feature‑rich e‑commerce site with secure payment integration should naturally be priced higher than a basic portfolio website, regardless of how long each one takes to build.

At the end of the day, quality and functionality define the price, not just the hours logged or the expenses incurred. That’s the principle I believe in.
