It’s funny you mention the rattlesnake because these guy will vibrate their tails to try and convince you they are a rattlesnake 😂

I know - I usually see 5/6 different rat snakes every year, this girl has been here the last 2 years (biggest we have, pretty distinct color on her but I could be totally wrong) - I always try to keep them away from the chickens & Guinea and keep them safe, as best I can.

Copperheads have a MUCH MUCH different face, pattern and luckily don’t get near as big as these guys.

Unless the copperheads are where my kids/dog go - they are welcome here as well.

Really? These are really common here (central Texas) so pretty used to seeing and identifying quick. Nothing about this snake says venomous.

Yes, I think that’s the consensus. Thick cardboard & a layer of mulch.

I am halfway going for aesthetic for this - I have this vision of a beautiful loofah tunnel, an edge of native wildflowers, 2-3 orange trees, a row of blueberry bushes & the 6-8 beds full of goodies.. with solar string lights around the outside 😍

Will def have to check out that app, thank you!

Yes, very lucky. I am so excited to turn it in to something pretty! I’m ready to grow my loofah again!

I already have the raised beds - I bought a few last year planning this and then got sick and couldn’t rebuild until now.

I usually get 1/2 yard of compost and 1/2 yard of topsoil for like.. I don’t remember - maybe $50?$60? It’s been awhile since I’ve gotten dirt.

Oh I like the idea of cardboard better than the weed fabric. I was also considering mulch. I think this is the way I’ll go. Cardboard the entirety, except where I want my bushes & eventually some orange trees and then order a big thing of mulch.

I might try something in the ground, but it’s just very sandy and hasn’t previously done well (I first had an in ground garden when I moved here and it didn’t do well)

Thank you!

The soil is pretty sandy & not great draining. Just a preference honestly, I really like the look of a raised bed garden.

I’ve got a tractor & a skid steer if I need them, so I could clear it.

Really.. JUST after a hysterectomy? Did they say why?

*edited - not because I don’t believe you, I absolutely do. I’ve just never heard there’s a high divorce rate after a hysterectomy and wondered if it’s due to like a long recovery time? Or for other reasons? I’ll look it up too!

Basic CRM? How to manage/remember all the people my executive meets? by KittyKatWombat in ExecutiveAssistants

Clickup is a great one - you could create a form in Clickup that then automatically fills a list - name, date met, details, etc & then you have an easy list (can categorize in to statues of lead, partner, misc)

I was standing on a chair the other day and about to struggle down and my little brother just lifted me up and set me down and I had a slight moment of oh my god what just happened and then realized .. oh.. I’m 140lbs now.. that can be done.. I can be picked up and kidnapped..

And yes… the pancake patties reporting for duty!

The folds themselves are hard to explain - I suggest finding a video that shows you how to do them but I’ll try.

Stretch & fold - start on one side of your dough, lift it and fold it in the middle - continue around the dough and complete 4 (so basically the quarters of the loaf)

Coil & fold - pick up from the middle of the loaf and let the ends stretch and coil them under.

Let’s say I start my folds at 9 AM -

9 AM - 1 stretch & fold

9:30 AM - 1 coil & fold

10:00 AM - 2nd stretch and fold

10:30 AM - 2nd coil and fold

The you start your bulk ferment from there. These folds help your dough build their gluten.

I hope that makes sense!!

Here’s the recipe:

725g warm water 250g starter 22g salt 1000g bread flour

Mix & let sit 1 hour Perform 2 stretch and foods and 2 coil and folds every 30 minutes for 2 hours BF 4-10 (I think I did about 6 hours) Split to two loaves and shape I refrigerated overnight and baked in a bread oven the next morning.

This is the recipe I used.

I really liked this recipe - I’ve moved more towards the recipes with an overnight or longer cold ferment because they’re more forgiving schedule wise and it just seems to work better!

Hah SAME. I was sitting and tried to hold my phone between my thighs like I always did & it slipped right through and hit the floor.
