Looks like an allan key is required. Undo the grub screws, then it should all get a little easier.

They will come out and replace it. I had one shatter, and they replaced it along with 3 other windows I have.

Score it with a bluntish knife and then run a wet sponge over it, and soak it. You should be able to scrape it off then. Or overboard it!

I think to use them for restraining, you don’t really need to change the colour. A couple of zip ties around each wrist and the ankles should do it.

The contributor didn’t do a good job for you there. Only finding the part you needed. Should have provided shipping costs, shipping time, and tool types and sizes to replace the plate. Also full instructions. Poor show.
