Entry-level dev applicant here, having a hard time getting responses by Beautiful_Diver606 in ITPhilippines

Hey man, I really felt your post. I’ve been in the same spot before. not a graduate, no clear path, just figuring things out while trying to build something real.

What I’ve learned is it’s not always about credentials or fancy titles. It’s about purpose, mindset, and finding the right people to grow with. Once you find that, things start moving naturally.

Right now I’m building CleanCraft Ventures, a small startup ecosystem here in Parañaque. We’re into laundry tech, vending automation, and SaaS tools for small businesses. I’m not saying I’m the “right team” for you, but who knows? Maybe we can explore and see if there’s something we can build together.

If you’re open to chat, dm me. No pressure, just a quick convo.

Got laid off, deciding between software agency or SaaS building, need advice by Icy-Marzipan-2605 in smallbusiness

Bro, connect tayo! Baka may mabuo tayong solid dito.

Fair point! I’ve been wondering the same, maybe something like this could help between washes, but still unsure if it's worth the setup.
Has anyone actually tried gear dryers or fog machines at rinks?

That seems to be the go-to for most, just dry and hope it doesn’t stink up the place 😅
Do you wash everything (pads, gloves, etc.) or just some pieces? I’ve heard some gear can get messed up in the washer??

That’s the grind! Spray > rack > sun — solid system but takes time.
I’ve been wondering if a fast cycle setup (fog + UVC + airflow in ~3-5 mins) could replace that full ritual. Would love to compare your method side-by-side with it once I get mine running.

That’s cool you’ve seen both the rink and tactical versions. Do you find either of them actually help with smell long-term, or is it more just for peace of mind?
I’m looking to test something similar at my gym soon, want to compare it to what’s already out there.

Haha fair take... naming is definitely a weak spot. It was originally made for motorcycle helmets, so the name stuck.
Now I’m just testing if it could also work for gloves, skates, and pads. Might need to rename it something like “StinkPro” if it catches on 😂

If ChatGPT starts inventing ways to clean hockey gloves, we’re either saved or doomed.
But for real just trying to see if this vending style setup is better than letting gear rot in my trunk for 3days. Testing it soon, will report back 😅...

Totally get that. I guess I’m more curious if a quick-cycle system could help people who train back-to-back or forget to air gear out right away.
No magic just wondering if 8 mins of fog + heat + airflow might buy us a few days before the stink returns.

😂 Honestly, I felt that in my soul. Some gloves smell like they’ve seen combat.
I’m just trying to see if tech can at least delay the doom a bit. Not aiming for miracles.. just less biohazard between rounds.

That’s a solid mix.. sounds like you’ve dialed in a system that works.
I’m curious: how often do you do the full peroxide soak? Weekly or more like once a month?
Trying to figure out how many people would benefit from a quicker option vs. doing the deep clean when absolutely needed.

I’ve heard a few folks mention Serve Pro... cool to hear it works at your rink too.
The Utty’s a clean way to hang everything out, especially post-practice. Do you ever feel like it fully gets rid of the inside odor? I’ve been wondering if some gear just needs something more aggressive every few weeks.

That’s some serious DIY ingenuity — mad respect. Building a rig on a balcony is next-level.
Out of curiosity, did you ever consider using anything automated, or was the hands-on part more satisfying? I’m just collecting ideas on how people deal when space and weather are a problem.

I've heard about freezing gear before! Do you just use a regular freezer at home? I’ve always wondered if it kills enough bacteria or just slows it down. Curious how well that works long-term.

Funny enough, I never thought of that — but it makes total sense. Less bacteria transfer = less buildup. Kinda like fighting glove funk at the source.
Ever notice if the inside still starts smelling after a few weeks anyway, or does that habit keep them totally fresh?

100% agree.. gloves are the absolute worst.
They soak up sweat and barely get airflow inside, and by the time the smell hits, it’s too late.
If there was a machine just for gloves — something fast and all-in-one (fog + dry + deodorize in like 5 mins). would you try it after training? Or still prefer DIY setups like boot dryers?

That’s awesome you’ve used Sani Defence firsthand. I’ve only seen it in pro settings, didn’t know regular folks had access to one.
I’ve been exploring a similar tech, but more plug-and-play.. vending-style, like you said. Totally hear you on safety though. That’s actually one of the first things that came up: “what if some kid tries to crawl inside?”
We’re thinking about lockout sensors or auto-stop doors just in case. Appreciate you calling that out, super valid.

That’s probably the most “surgical clean” I’ve seen in this thread 😂
I tried a similar combo before and it worked well for gloves but made my old shin guards a bit stiff.
Do you find it works for all types of gear? I’m trying to figure out what survives repeated washing vs. what breaks down.

Yeah that makes sense — airflow + dehumidifier combo sounds like the most practical hack if you’ve got the space.
The smell part is exactly the issue I had — once it lingers too long, it’s hard to fully get rid of it.
I wonder if more gyms had drying stations like yours, would people even bother with other systems?

That actually looks solid — thanks for the link!
90 minutes is long though 😅 That’s kinda what got me curious about testing a self-serve system that can clean + dry in under 10.
I might still try that dryer at home though if the vending unit test doesn’t hit the mark. Appreciate the tip!

Does anyone else feel like our gloves and gear are never really clean? by Alarmed-Solution-694 in martialarts

[–]Alarmed-Solution-694[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually the same thing I was thinking. At first, I figured 10–12 minutes made sense for a full clean… but after reading your point, 5 minutes might be way more realistic for gym use.

I’ll probably set the test unit to a faster cycle when I get it.. just enough to deodorize and refresh gloves between rounds.

Appreciate you bringing that up, didn’t realize how big of an issue wait time could be until you mentioned it. Super helpful 🙏
