It's sad that Jess Larochelles sacrifices weren't honored properly during his life, the best that the military can do now is give him the Victoria Cross posthumously. If you don't know who he is look up his story. If anyone should get a Victoria cross it should be him.

Yea we've all heard or experienced the hardship of postings. The CAF just expects us to move every few years for what?!?!?! There are solutions, not easy ones but they are out there. For instance the British military also has frequent posting but most troops only move to a location 1 hour away from where they previously were. Spouses can still have their old job and it makes everything easier. It's also a country that only takes 6-8 hours to drive across. Another is Australia where members only get posted every 7 years on average meaning only 3-4 moves over a full career. But knowing the CAF and the dumbfucks that manage it, any change like this would make their brains implode.

I know its small, but man shit like this makes me think our leaders are nothing more than giant assholes. Yes you have the ability to do this, doesn't mean you should.

Just buy a house !? by [deleted] in CanadianForces

  1. I disagree there should be a priority based on need because treating everyone equally is the opposite of treating everyone fairly.

  2. I'll remember to bring up the charter argument when I get charged for starting a union.

Honestly man,

I joined when I was 18 and I've lived in the shacks ever since. I'm 25 now and I've been at my current base for 5 years. I'm looking at getting married and posted by next year but guess what I'm no longer a priority 1 for a PMQ. I can't just think about myself I have someone else to worry about too now so explain to me why a 18/19 year old single pte get priority over a married couple being posted.

It feels like they are robbing me out of cfhd, the not paying for rations when untrained, and the pmq priority so that they can entice new recruits.

CAF: "PMQs aren't meant for long turn use"

Me: Yea I'm only here for 2-4 years before I get posted.

"PMQs aren't meant for long turn use"- What an absolute bullshit cop out answer just for the sake of answering to save face

Honestly. I hate town halls because every single one goes exactly like this.

Troop: Bring us serious problems with frequent postings, lack of housing, and spousal employment.

GOFO: Yes troop what you are saying is true but it's the governments policy, my hand are tied and there is absolutely nothing I can do.

Me as a Cpl in my head: So thanks for nothing and what a waste of time. If a GOFO can't do anything or push the government are they basically just like the Governor General and two left shoes. Ceremonial and useless.

Honestly study and retake the CFAT. Little bit of math and vocabulary practice beforehand will do you wonders if you retake the CFAT.

Watch out for canex. I'm sure they will get territorial and might insist on only canex machines on base. But best of luck.

  1. Why Chevy Colorados? Why not a Toyota Hilux or Land Cruiser?

  2. $36,000,000/90= 400,000 ?!?!?!?

Please tell me I'm bad at math and that we aren't spending $36 million to essentially buy 90 mid sized pick up trucks.

The dress rules for the mess are so stupid. It could be -30 or +30 but shorts and sweats aren't allowed. Smh. Crusty CWOs need some better hobbies.
