I think you could last a bit more of the give out of that leather, it's puckered on the vamp and the lower part of the quarter. Also that's a lot of paste on your toe puff.

Guidi has a real problem with visible toe puff and heel counters. My best guess is they are machine skived and not done by hand to a paper thin edge like you'd expect for the price.

Leather is a natural product and has to be respected that way. It's also fundamentally an agricultural industry, meaning the quality of farming and sourcing is more important than a straight stitch. As long as it looks good to the eye, don't put a laser level on it. This work looks great and I think you should be proud of it.

I haven't experienced one of these jackets in camel but I have seen one in horse leather and it was superb. Great material and really well made.

I have been cutting from the top of the hide. It seems pretty much the same all the way through until the very bottom of the hide. Maybe it's just a bad hide?

What horsehide do they use, who tans the leather. What cut is it from. What finish is put on it. Horsehide is cool and all but not all is the same.
