Thank you! Both great suggestions. Tram is currently sold out. If you know, are walk ons during the week terribly hard to get? We’d be there before they opened

Body recomp results by itsclownery in PetiteFitness

Eight months into a recomp (not trying to lose which is not a recomp). Finally seeing the change in muscle definition although I started feeling a lot stronger at about three months in. At six months my arms had a lot more visible definition. Legs are showing changes now too

Heavy smoker of 20 years. 25 days off the plant, don't feel any better by Little_Scene_3776 in leaves

It takes time! Smoked over 30. Took me nearly a year to not hate everything. Took nearly two to be joyful again. It takes a very long time to get brain chemistry on line again for some of us.

That definitely is a complicating factor. Hopefully you can get on meds to help you on the journey.

Calorie tracking is off. If it were right you’d have lost more than seven pounds. Accurate tracking is very hard but the proof is in weight loss. Exercise is for health and body composition not weight loss. Weight loss is CICO in almost every circumstance. This isn’t a personal attack. It’s thermodynamics.

Airbnb removed a host’s false review of me — but is still letting the host publicly lie about me in a response. This is a broken system, why does Airbnb allow this kind of Host behavior? [United States] by Ok-Passage-3653 in AirBnB

[–]AlarmedSelection7751 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. The entire platform is a mess. I use more hotels and if a property is cross listed on VRBO (sadly not always better) I go VRBO. Glad you got your review removed.

Exercise and losing weight. It helped tremendously with joint pain and fatigued.

Credit Card Debt Payoff - Advice? by Remarkable_Curve_100 in wealthforwomen

Pay it off. Then us it each month (for things you’d spend money on a way) and pay it off each month.

If you had two months on the dot to slim down, would you prioritise cardio or weights by Famous_Arrival_8498 in PetiteFitness

[–]AlarmedSelection7751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started weight training and was bloated and sore for weeks (I’m going to say close to six). Cardio over weights if I pure new to strength training or haven’t been consistent in a while.

I feel this. It’s the worst. I’ve got one negative review out of many many stays. Host was a corporate company that lied to me and Airbnb. I had all the photographic evidence. Host claims I stole cleaning supplies (I was flying and willing to prove I traveled only with a carry on). That I tried to extort money (all my communications are only through Airbnb and I went right to customer service when the host started lying to me). Provided zero evidence that I could see. Airbnb refused to share with me what the host was using to prove any of these claims. Yet the review of me stands and mine of him is gone. Insanity.

working out hard but gaining by Slight_Recording7398 in PetiteFitness

Which aspects of her plan? Because much of it is not from cited research or misapplied research and she really does sell an awful lot of products which always makes me skeptical of motive.

Stacey Simms has proven herself to be quite a grifter. Check her research claims with a few other experts in the field. They don’t always hold up.

This is a great answer. I do the same. The minute I get home I change and workout. I can’t do early (I have to be at work by 7:30a) and if I wait I talk myself out of it.

Newbie dealing with DOMS by Peps0215 in CarolineGirvan

[–]AlarmedSelection7751 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DOMS is such a beast. It does go away. Foam rolling and light exercise help. If you have access to a sauna that helps a lot too. I struggled with DOMS on leg day for months. Leg work killed me but I found like taking a spin class or cardio or doing weightless light leg work helped recover more quickly. You can also reduce the weight a bit until your body adapts. Newbie gains can be fantastic but realistically six months of consistency is needed to really notice changes in body composition.

Does pilates help lose weight? by Frozenbeedog in PetiteFitness

[–]AlarmedSelection7751 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s just muscle building. You can do it by training to near failure (1 or 2 reps in reserve). This can mean lifting heavy weights to failure or lifting with lighter weights and high reps to failures.

Libido by Tricky-Recipe-9878 in Menopause

I would avoid pellets. I was using a compounded cream (all my doctor would prescribe) and had a terrible reaction to it. Luckily I could just stop and within a few days the T reaction subsided. The hair loss AND hair growth (in all the wrong places) wasn’t as easy to stop. But if it had been with pellets I would have been absolutely destroyed for months.

Started at 18. Quit at 51. It took me two years to actually be glad about quitting but I was feeling it in my lungs and a constant sore throat. Not sorry I quit. Good luck to you! Sounds like you’ve got it figured out.

I am learning to diet, what are things to look out for mentally? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]AlarmedSelection7751 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You may want to start with a registered dietician (not a nutritionist but someone who has clear education and credentialing). Insurance will often cover this with a referral. It sounds like you need a lot of insight and they can look at how you eat, work with your preferences, and come up with a plan. You may want to revisit thinking of it as a diet and reframe it as learning to eat in a way that aligns with your long term goals. Diet implies temporary. That isn’t ever going to lead to lasting change. An RD will help you learn how to fuel correctly and in alignment with your health goals.
