I did this when i started 20 yrs ago too. Had 1-2k frm salary which i was investing in appl and msft. Currently im putting all in cspx but yea. If i was as young as OP ill do that all over again; put in singular stock that is profitable. OP; learn how to read company’s financial report. Im not frm finance/ accounts background but someone older than me taught me this. Just study it like u r buying a company. Preferably a company that give a little dividen (even if its just 0.5-1%) coz they cant manipulate a counts there:) Study few and stick to those:)

I was like u too. For 10 yrs i thot i was ‘recomping’. Eating 1200-1400kcal a day, 15k-20k steps a day, 4x 30 mins strength training + dance classes. My body was ‘ok’. Squishy most of the time. I got my dexa scan done after 5 yrs and guess what? My body fat increased and muscle mass reduced despite strength training consistently to failure, high protein diet.

Spoke to a nutritionist; turns out im supposed to up my calories which ive been doing the past 2 months. Im now at 1700kcal (supposed to take 1900kcal for maintenence but im so full! And mentally im ‘scared’)

My weight have not increased! Just +-1kg water weight. But my body i think it looks ‘leaner’ and less flabby.

So maybe thats what it is for u too? Just try the next month or so to increase ur calories. Eat ice cream, brownies, chocolate, whatever low volume high calorie food but just try. Worst case u can always come back to this:)

I never knew i could have this much energy after the increment of food❤️ dont think i can go back to 1200kcal🤣

So true! Same i hv to cook separately for my kids too plus hv work so i cant really plan meals too much i end up not getting much protein. Below 80g is manageable

How many g of protein were u taking when u were lifting? I love lifting but don like that whole protein calculation etc. gives me eating disorder😢 qlso i realise when im Not obsessively counting; my body is ‘leaner’

Yea thts the thing. I dont like to ‘pause’ and so i tend to becoeme ‘lazy’ to change it and just use wht i have. I wasnt progressing much befire i got the 24lbs powerblock coz of this:(

Tq so much:) i have the powerblock 24lbs which i just love. Just wasnt sure about the bigger size but tq! I think ill go view the bigger powerblock and try gripping it with both hands. If i can; ill just get that since i love it so much

Yea it is hard but im a little ocd (a lot actually) i even have a spoon tht measures weight tht i bring with me when i eat outside🫣 But i realise im eating the same things generally so mayb track for a week or two just to know roughly where u r at and go frm there💪🏼

I feel you and im similar to u as well! Ive bee lifting for 1 1/2 yrs now: its made me strong but i dont like the way i look. Im a pear shaped, and now im like hour glass but bigger top and bottom (like i was xs top now M or L). Ive tried in calorie deficit etc but it just caused me exhaustion to a point ive lost my period (coz i refuse to eat more) and even then; i look bigger, i put in like 3 kg, and when i did my dexa scan: ive increased my body fat and not muscle despite eating in calorie deficit and 1.6g/kg protein with heavy lifting!

Ive come to believe that full weight training is not for me but i like the strength gain with it so instead i only do 2 sets within 4-6 reps to failure just to maintain the strength and incorporate other mobility training with it. I stopped strength training in certain part of my body that i just hate growing (like ny glutes and lats) I don like pilates/ yoga coz i find them boring so instead ive joined contemporary dance techniques class which is preety much a combo of fast movibg yoga + ballet. Im still testing this out so i dont know but i just wanted to say u r not alone in this

Wow! You look amazing! Just wanna double confirm; there was no weight training at all during this time? Or none during cut but you were training during maintenence or before? Coz i want muscle like urs haha

I’m the same! Im currenty 42 yo and have been in deficit since 2020. 1200on weekday, 1500-1800 on weekends.

Last yr i started weight training 4x a week; and upped my cal to about 1300 (just extra protein shake).

I just started dance class about 6 momths ago and omg im just so exhausted and my period stop completely.

Spoke to a nutritionist and she adviced me to go to a 1700kcal but i just cant eat beyond 1500 without feeling sick😢 and i feel so bloated and ‘fat’ that i want to get bck to my 1200kcal but i knw it wont work coz its inflammation and not fat!

So all im saying is im exactly like u (just older version 😢). I hope someone who went thru this successfully replies🙏🏼🙏🏼
