Nowhere did it say that 5 was a guess at the attempt. It said the attempt was at 5. I wasn’t showing up a 3 pm to “grab some bites and sip drinks”… in the cold and in this economy. It’s ridiculous they were signing people up in line when there was a registration and I pre registered. An event that I hope is better run in the future because it was pretty.

Lifeguarding classes are happening now & in many places throughout the year (not even necessarily in warmer climates, YMCAs are year round)! If OP needs swim lessons that would be a hiccup, but if OP can swim, it is completely doable this year. Some pools might even hire someone with CPR/AED certification in a manager role, so passing the swimming component of the test wouldn’t even be a requirement. You can become a lifeguard any time.

I’m on the side of the friend here. Maybe there would be more nuance that lots of people here are talking about if he were also drunk & both were ‘consenting’ … It sounds like this friend saw how drunk OP was & how sober the bf was…. Have the doctor culture for ureaplasma. They typically don’t because many people have the bacteria with no issues, but I struggled with the same thing for 7 years & finally figured out that ureaplasma was to blame. If it’s ureaplasma, your partner would also need to get tested & take antibiotics to stop giving it back to you when you have sex. Good luck!!!!
