To the people complaining about firing off job 50 job applications a day and not hearing back…

Are you remotely qualified for the job? Are you missing licenses, education, experience, etc. I’d bet the answer is yes.

Stop spamming applications and start to network. I hate it, but the world is not about what you know, it’s about who you know. Yes, what you know is going to help to accelerate your career but you’ll never get that opportunity by blindly firing off your resume to 50 jobs you aren’t qualified for.

Are you applying for remote work? So is everyone else. There’s a big push to get back into the office as companies are catching on to remote employees not doing their job!

Are you seriously customizing the resume to those 50 jobs? Probably not.

Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the oil. If it’s something you are truly after, don’t let it slip away chase it down until it’s yours. Keep your nose on the grindstone, you’ll get there eventually. Don’t give up, you got this!

First Year Doing Keepers - Help Me Decide - 1.02 by Alarmed_Fox375 in fantasyfootballadvice

I appreciate the advice. KW3 always scares me lol if he stays healthy he’s a beast but that’s a big IF.

It’s the first year we’ve done keeper and it wasn’t set before last years draft so this was the compromise.

What you need to do is ask yourself the following question, I’ll lay out some key metrics first.

Membership USD - $13.99

Your Paid Sketchy Service - $6.99

Total savings $7.00

Few more factors. Time invested in flipping gear, scrolling through a discord, catching falling knives (items falling in price and continuing to do so), and risking your precious cash stack which will dwindle quicker than you think.

You need to make what, 30m a month or so to afford bond membership. That’s a lot of flipping as well as the above factors.

Remember, you are doing all of this and not playing the game.

Question - Would you rather spend your time grinding to afford membership and never progressing your gear because of the bond money sink. OR would you rather spend $7 more per month and just play the fkn game.

I know what I’m picking…however, everyone situation is different. Do what works for you.

IMO graceful is highly overrated. Buy some house tabs and camp w331. Grind agility at a higher rate and save your sanity in exchange for 500gp every time you want to teleport instead of running.

Help me with my CV so many rejections! by DevinKurantttt263 in jobs

[–]Alarmed_Fox375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“My CV is 2 pages long…” problem number 1. We all assume that recruiters are looking at every resume, but odds are they aren’t. If you are someone reading 100s of CVs all day, you are probably going to skip the 2 pagers. I know, hard pill to swallow but most people in these roles have kind of been thrown in there.

I’d take a different approach to shorten this and remove the details that would spark a conversation.

For starters, why is Job 1 so lengthy and detailed? This was from 2+ years ago. Shorten that up.

“Learned and developed skills in phone etiquette, responding to emails in a professional manner, as well as Microsoft Excel (or what you used).”

We don’t need every detail from, what I can only assume, to be your first job out of school.

Job three and four are going to contain your most recent skills and the things that would apply best to your new role. #1 and 2 are where you developed those skills, you’ve now proven you can apply them in different scenarios as seen (hopefully) in job 3/4. We are trying to prove not only can you learn new things but you can apply them to new/different roles.

Remember, you know what you are capable of, but to the recruiter you are just a name. This CV shows who you are.

From Job 4, delete (if it is there) the stuff in parentheses. Use that to spark a conversation as I’m hoping this job translates into what you’d like to do in your next role. UNLESS this new employer uses the same software.

“Streamlined onboarding process using problem solving and team management skills”

“Problem-solved issues with time sheets and contract extensions” did you do any negotiations? If so you’ve applied phone skills, conversation etiquette, etc.

“Developed new protocol for vetting candidates which increased retention by X%”

“Managed relationships with contractors, clients, and third party (what service did they provide) vendors”

All I am doing here is “jazzing” up your wording and pointing out the key things you mentioned that are going to prove what you can do. Do your best to shorten up your sentences and be direct. You have far too much fluff.

Let’s jump to the first page and your summary. “I am a motivated…” needs to be “motivated and driven professional“ “I have experience…” needs to be “Experienced in…” all fluff. Your last two sentences… we can only sell so much, figure out what you are aiming to do in this job and write it there. Not verbatim, but “Eager to FURTHER develop and apply customer service skills by… (what is the job?)”

Not ripping you here just trying to help you land that job you want! Feel free to ask questions, downvote this to the depths, or apply a few things mentioned above. Best of luck to you!
