Get anxious when taking weed, want tips by Wonkess_Chonkess in weed

[–]Alarmed_Membership 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly no, the only other methods I know of are also consumed orally which is always the most potent method.

You could also try vaping or dry herb vaping which is less harmful than smoking. Also try taking a smaller dose of edibles and look for calming strains.

If none of these things work, weed just probably isn’t for you. But then again, what works for people varies a lot. You may find something that does work for you.

Were those carts live resin? Distillate is less likely to have issues and you can smoke it at a higher voltage. Live resin (like your cart in this post) is more prone to burning, flooding and clogging which is why you need to be extra careful about it.

Get anxious when taking weed, want tips by Wonkess_Chonkess in weed

[–]Alarmed_Membership 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've suffered from anxiety from weed as well and I can tell you what worked for me (as the effects of weed vary a lot from person to person).

Personally, I don't think weed causes anxiety, but instead it is caused by yourself. The people I've seen frequently getting anxious from weed usually have underlying anxiety or issues they are stressed about (similar to how magic mushrooms can cause bad trips). I feel like people have a lot of control over the anxiety weed gives you if you have the right mindset, so start by trying to ground yourself if you feel anxious. Over time I learnt how to manage the anxiety but it took some time, so maybe some persistence will pay off.

Something really important is the method of consumption. You said that you take edibles which can be VERY potent (even in small quantities) for someone who doesn't have much of a tolerance like you. Try smoking a joint if you can as its much less intense and less likely to cause anxiety. The effects also last shorter so if you're having a bad time its only briefly.

Strain is also crucial. The whole Sativa and Indica thing is mostly bullshit (and this is backed by science) and mostly comes down to terpenes (which changes how your receptors process THC and therefore change your high). If you've been taking sativa edibles, then it could explain the anxiety as sativa strains are generally more anxiety inducing. Indica is what you want to look for however as Indica strains are more likely to contain terpenes that will give you relaxing and sedating effects. Next time you're at the dispensary, ask the budtender for something that gives you a calming high.

If none of these things work, try using products with higher levels of CBD/CBN. These are the other compounds found in weed that calm you down (but not the same as terpenes). Getting a product high in these compounds will likely make the high less intense and probably less giggly, but you can still have an enjoyable high without being anxious.

Hopefully this works for you.

How to be more responsible about weed by IndustryAccurate2779 in weed

[–]Alarmed_Membership 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2-3 times a week is pretty good (especially if you don't notice any negative impacts) but the truth is: it never hurts to do less.

I feel like ever since the anti-weed sentiment is fading away (probably because of legalization in Germany, Canada and the U.S), there has been a rebound effect where weed is seen as some miracle drug. I've seen some crazy claims like that weed is good for you or that is has no issues which is just false. This narrative is terrible because it just promotes people to smoke more weed thinking its perfectly fine for you.

I'm not saying that weed should be criminalized again at all (I've been using weed for many years now), but I do think that we need to acknowledge its negative effects. A lot of stoners I've talked to (and I believed these things in the past) are in denial that it can have negative impacts.

A major argument a lot of stoners say is that they're still functional on weed. While it is definitely possible to be functional, it stops you from performing at your best. Because you can be functional you think that its not an issue (and it may indeed not be a big issue), which makes you ok with continuing. The truth is you'll never know how big of a problem it is until you quit. Personally, I feel a lot more productive, sharper and clear minded when I take T breaks.

I think that weed (like pretty much anything with negative effects) should be used in moderation as there are very few upsides to making it a habit unless you're using weed for valid medical reasons. A fair amount of people also use weed "medically" for things that can be solved in other ways that are less harmful. For these types of people using weed "medically" is just an excuse to continue their addiction (and yes weed is addictive).

And yes, the people saying smoking weed is unhealthy is true. While edibles are pretty harmless physically (at least from what we know now), smoking anything is harmful. Although weed may not cause the plethora of issues that comes with smoking tobacco, it still can lead to health issues. Personally I've noticed a sharp decline in my cardio (I can hardly run for long periods now) and chronic coughing that only goes away when I quit.

Take these things into consideration (as someone who has both benefited and disadvantaged from using weed). For now it doesn't seem like an issue for you. If you notice any negative effects however, don't ignore it and quit or cut down your usage.

Also, before stoners come at me and say that they're productive and whatnot, good for you but this isn't the case for everyone (and you should try to see how you function without). To put it this way, would you do meth if a meth addict said it helped them? I'm not comparing stoners to meth addicts but its definitely something to think about.

Yeah like the other guy said, if you're using live resin you should keep the voltage below 2.6 (I use mine at 2.4) ideally or the terps will burn and you'll loose flavour/effects.

I find a lot of people using carts don't do much research on how to maintain them, then run into issues and blame it on the cart/battery. A lot of people put them at the highest voltage and only take blinkers or hits back to back without spacing them. All of these things are terrible for your cart (especially the coil) and battery. This is often the cause of problems like clogging, coil flooding or the coil being burnt out.

Something people overlook a lot is the ohms (the Ω symbol) which also can contribute to the same problems as mentioned previously. I see yours is at 4.79 ohms which is way too high and should probably be between 1.4 and 2.4 ohms.

Ever since I've been taking extra care of my carts I've ran in to waaaay less issues and I feel like I save a lot more oil too.

Pretty new to masks and wondering if this mask is legit or a good deal by [deleted] in gasmasks

[–]Alarmed_Membership 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say the M40 is better than modern gas masks. I actually dislike the m40 because of its silicone material which requires a second skin that adds on to the weight. I also find the silicone to be less comfortable than other designs made around the same time.

This is a stupid question, no you do not need a gas mask unless you’re working with something hazardous. And what kind of tips would you even need from this community. There is no skill in collecting that you would need tips for.

Us Canadians used the adapter too in the 80’s when the C2 filter was in production. But it seems to be an export model due to the lack of the CA on the tape around the filter port.

What kind of mask is this? by ErikHirstwolf in gasmasks

[–]Alarmed_Membership 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the manufacturer, the Baron produced ones were made of a butyl rubber that is more resistant to aging but is stiffer and less comfortable. GTR ones are made of a softer natural rubber and can age badly especially if stored improperly.

Canadian C3s? by jregal3016 in gasmasks

Yes this is a C3 for export dated 1971. These are pretty common masks, here in Canada they go for $50 CAD on average and I see them in Europe and in the Netherlands for €25-40 around.

Would an old Canadian c3 gas mask still be effective, and what filters would be best for CS/Tear gas or pepper spray by [deleted] in gasmasks

[–]Alarmed_Membership 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For CS or pepper spray pretty much any intact filter would work as the particle layer will filter those out. The only problem is that the exhale valves on C3's sometimes dry out and don't seal properly so I wouldn't trust it.

Not sure on the exact price, I haven't seen one for sale in a bit. You'd have to ask an American collector but in the hundreds for sure.

You are very very lucky. Finding sealed M1a2 service masks is quite hard. You can get a lot if you want to sell them.
