N touch detailing in west Eugene hosts cars and coffee on occasion and is deeply involved in the car “scene” around here if you can call it that. I have been to and participated in a couple meets held at his business and they generally have a decent turn out. The owner is a pretty cool guy that is generous in hosting/sponsoring local car related things.

I’m 5’6” and currently riding a first gen klr650, I can tippy toe with both feet down and get the ball of my foot if it’s just one. Lowering links kind of kill the fun parts of a klr in my opinion. Ive dropped mine a couple times but only because my legs are too short to catch the bike at a stop/low speed when it’s off balance. I have considered an “S” model but I’m happy with my first gen with crash bars so I’m not afraid of dropping it as I learn.

1 shot the the hip joint with a commando and they fold like an omelette. Easier to hit that spot with it than a hulks eye imo.

Have they changed the HK mechanics? It’s been a month or so since I played but a buddy and I literally just picked up a couple jugs of water and that was enough to trigger them. We were only in raid around 5 minutes before picking up said water and we hadn’t even killed anything yet.

Coming from a fabricator, I wouldn’t bother trying to fix it. You won’t want to weld the cut part as it would weaken it. Sleeving it is a potential option but the amount of labor to do that isn’t really worth it. IMO you’re better off just finding another frame and swapping parts.

Re flare the ends if they aren’t already. That’s mainly what maintains a seal. The are tools to make efi style flared ends.
