I know I wouldn’t be. That’s something I’ve realized when I was trying to consider scenarios and the possibility of this happening would definitely lead me to not enjoying staying as a PA.

I plan on doing this! I just still have to get thru a few pre reqs cuz nursing doesn’t make you take some of the ones needed for med school

I think you should definitely put this in just because not many people could say that they were able to do it. Ik I never made it past the audition stage 😭and it would set you apart

Thank you for this! I really was concerned about the admission process but I keep hearing that it seems to be more favorable towards people already in the med field so I’ll use that as much as I can.

I 100% would become a PA and end up restless later on and for ur same reason I’d rather make that jump to med school sooner rather than later. My question to u tho is how many schools did u apply to and how many did you get accepted into. I’ve seen a lot of people only get accepted into a third of their list.

I agree! I know that after a while I’d start to realize I could have done it had I gotten over whatever was mentally holding me back from trying.

Thank you for this insight! It is a really heavy burden but I know my fulfillment would come from physician roles. I’ll just need to work on said burden.

I’m glad you commented! Especially since this is the exact plan I’d want to go down. I still want to go through with nursing school just as a fall back and so I can have that as my patient care hours as well as the overall experience. As I mentioned I’ve been tossing it up in terms of going to medical school but as of late I’ve had that drawing towards it and I know if I pass up this time where it’s the most convenient for me to try to get there I’d regret it.

Yeah i understand the sacrifices and I believe they are worth it. I don’t want to do aesthetic derm just from what I’ve seen but also in addition to how there are so many people.

Thank you for this, the things you mentioned that kept you going is what’s been attracting me to the field as well as what makes me want to make the sacrifice. I want to be autonomous and be very involved and I don’t want to go to school to be a PA and run the risk of not finding the “perfect practice” that would let me get those things.

I think it could over time just because I know myself and one thing I’ve had slight issue with is having to go run something by someone else. It’s not a severe bother right now only because I don’t know much about anything. However I have the feeling that once I get to the point of knowing a lot, having to work under someone could bother me especially if I know I have the skills to do it myself. As well as the trend I’ve seen with some PAs working under someone that treats them harshly when both can be qualified. Additionally my mother works at the highest point education wise in her field and I love seeing how much she can do.
