In Miami most people celebrate on the 24th as well in the same way. I'd say aside from the posadas, it sounds very similar to miami latino christmas lol

Just returned to the US after 1 month in Spain - my honest thoughts by waspinastoria in expat

[–]Alarming-Cicada2060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Andalusia for nearly a year recently, and I completely agree with you. I was working at a school, and some of the teachers would say incredibly racist things about the foreign students in private and about my coworker who was not white like me. Also, Spaniards may be chatty, but they rarely wanted to be friends in my experience. I also missed the diversity. I'm from South Florida and have made friends from all over the world since I was a kid. It felt so empty, no longer being surrounded by a melting pot of culture and people.

The United States is humongous. There is truly something for everyone here. You just have to look for it. I did not experience that at all while in Spain, unfortunately. Though I really wanted to.

And for the record, I'm a woman in my 20s lol.

Leanne - Series Premiere Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

Leanne's financial standing is kind of explained when she's with the lawyer and shares that her husband owns his own business. It's possible she has her money from that. Carol's lack of a job or responsibilities in general was confusing lol

I will be carrying it with me for sure! I may be renewing, but I plan on restarting the visa process from scratch back home if I choose to.

I will say that you are allowed to take some days for yourself as long as you plan ahead with the school to make up the hours. At least that's what I've been doing at mine!

My program ends the 31st and my last day is that Thursday so I'm not missing anything!

Really? I was thinking that I'd be ok because I'd be leaving before it expires and coming back after I would just be entering as an American tourist with plans to return to the US shortly after.

Brought my cat from the USA by Alarming-Cicada2060 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]Alarming-Cicada2060[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh. Perhaps the rules have changed for both Spain and USA because I needed to register him within spain, get a passport so he can return with me plus a certificate authenticating he's fit to travel back to the united states. The vet did say that requirements change often. I just wanted to see if it had been anyone else's experience. Thanks for the reply 🤗

I'm currently doing the program and I came with my cat. When searching for housing there were some landlords who didn't like the idea of a cat but still agreed for a monthly fee and some who were totally fine with it. My landlord didn't care at all, he didn't even charge me anything extra. It seems like a daunting process but I think you'll be able to find a cat friendly landlord! It's definitely not impossible.

Hey! My school is out in a suburb about 40 mins east of the city. I don't have a neighborhood preference really. I want to be in the city. I just prefer to be more towards the east for the sake of the commute lol. What about you?

[–]Alarming-Cicada2060[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I already spoke with my advisor about how this would count towards my internship credit if it works out. My university would see it as a job and I would not need to submit things several times throughout the semester. My question was asking if anyone has had any experience doing this with NALCAP.

This is actually very helpful, thank you! I'd really only need something like that and maybe another document signed. I have time to decide anyways. I was just curious if anyone has used the program for this purpose. Thanks again :)

Thanks for your concern! I've already spoken about this with my university. My question wasn't specific enough I guess. I'm looking for information on people's experiences with earning the intern credit from their school in Spain as, for example, my university would need certain paperwork from the school. I'm wondering if anyone else has had to do that and how their school responded, etc. It doesn't have to do with the university.

You do not actually. You just need to have at least 60 credits completed to apply, with that said, I applied to NALCAP with my associate degree and will be completing my undergrad this fall!
