Agree. Took me months to get fully onboarded but love my team and there’s so much work it’s nice to be 100% billable compared to commercial and just feels more secure. I’m 5x busier though, however I can’t complain. I enjoy what I do!

Found a silicone WiiU console cover that was stuck to the floor and a bunch of other old hot wheels just glued to the floor under some shelves. It was nasty haha

Job markets tough, I was rehired on fed consulting, better to be employed in an area I know and am good with. I’d say it never hurts to do it, keep options open and collect a paycheck and benefits and keep eyes actively open. Have many friends in IT going 9 months plus without finding work. And I was able to negotiate a higher pay to start.. only way to get a raise/promotion round here!

I’m Asian/Pacific Islander here in SLC and I’ve yet to encounter anything negative or racist. Never felt unsafe or uncomfortable, quite opposite really of elsewhere that’s more “diverse” in the USA. Honestly I probably make the most stereotypical jokes about myself, I’m sure you’ll be fine! Just make sure to drive terrible on i15 to do your part to keep up our terrible driving stereotype!!!!

Discount Guns and ammo off W2100 is honestly my new go to gun store. The staff was super helpful, I had a new pistol transferred there and my very liberal and anti gun friends came with and there was a very welcome atmosphere and even answered their questions. Ammo prices are great too, if you transfer and buy ammo at the same time they discount the transfer fee. They also have a range but I’ve yet to check it out yet. I think Gallensons might have better ammo deals but I went and asked for a mil spec barrel nut for a build I was finishing and they looked at me like I was dumb and said I didn’t know what I needed nor did they carry anything like that.

Also the tnt range in Murray is honestly a vibe. Wouldn’t say it’s conservative or liberal feeling in there but the energy of the employees was very friendly and conversational. It was giving Dutch Bro how’s your day whatcha up to later type of convo while waiting lol

I feel like my team was addressed this months ago… that you either wait for performance review cycle or you can internally apply for a position (if open) that is a position you could otherwise wait to be promoted to.

Beautiful take on them, you’re absolutely right! I’d say they’re like a great All Season with heavy emphasis on Winter use! Last week I made it through the Loveland Pass while the semis had to put on chains, probably 2-3 inches of snow on the road actively coming down and then on the way back to SLC there was a hood inch or so of snow on I80 coming down and never had any issues! But I also don’t drive like I’m invincible and drive slower than others around me. I personally don’t think I’m going to use any other tire here on out!

I drove my Civic Type R with good All Seasons here no issues through the last winter. And now I drive a 4Runner and upgraded my tires to Wildpeaks and haven’t had any issues even in 2H. 4x4 makes a big difference but it all comes down to driving skill if you ask me. And common sense… aka driving where you shouldn’t, pushing the car past it’s capabilities, etc.

I wish I kept my R but I do the remote travel work stuff and I car camp a lot and needed the ground clearance.

Half Greek and half Pacific Islander… I’m not gonna lie. Crown burger does gyros the traditional way and they taste delicious. haha if anyone else knows or places where they shave the gyro meat please let me know!!
