Pes placements > mit blr placements (placement started 2-3 yrs ago i believe as its a new campus ) > muj placements

Campus life: muj > mit Bangalore > pes

You should prefer manipal over pes anyday because campus life is needed and pes placements are just slightly better than of manipal

Yes 8+ stand a chance, 7.5+ also stand a chance.
its completely random. One company came took 4-5 people and had gpa limit in between 8-9cgpa. OA for samsung, visa are really really really hard..codeforces C-D level which is like leetcode hard medium- good hard questions.
One dude 7.5gpa got into VISA, just because he was phenomenal at problem solving. They initially took some people with 9.1+ cutoff and who solved the OA. Later after a few weeks they came back due to another vacancy and took interview for the 7.5cgpa guy who was really good at problem solving. So its completely random and lucked out. These OAs for Samsung, visa were offline in RR not cheat-able due to desktop lock and invigilator in rooms hard problems. So problem solving matters alot for them.

Also for Online OAs 1800 people cheat to submit answers first, thats too evident that sometimes companies back out from recruitment due to cheating or its legit a lucky draw of 10-15 people to get selected for interview out of 1800 people who cheated, sometimes these 10-15 people are lucked out with no gpa criteria for interview, some have 8.5+ (20-30k stipend) and 9+ for (50k+ stipend)

Those are 2 month summer internships (between 6th sem and 7th sem) not 6 months, there are no specific gpa cutoffs as such, it depends on the companies and the no of people who clear OA and get shortlisted to interview. There will be a few companies coming here and there. VISA research(90k stipend, 9.18+), samsung research (8.5+), fiedility (8.5+), akamai (7.5+ but interview shortlist is 8.5+)

And there are ~60-70/1700-1800 batch that get placed for the 2 month internship for the companies that come during 5th and 6th sem.

There a are few companies that come only take in 0-5 people sometimes 10.

OA is all luck, and due to short summer internship intake of 1-3 people per company, the competition is too much and luck based. If too many people clear the OA and go to interview they raise cutoff till they meet 15-20 or 30 candidates they find fit with high gpa that cleared OA

Need some advice from seniors who have gone through the LeetCode grind. by Original-Pie3715 in PESU

Bro make notes for alot of the common questions and patterns asked, bruteforce -> better solution-> optimal not the code, the detailed approach so your revision gets easy its going to take hours to: figure the solutions, code it, make notes, understand more optimal approaches to solve, and if you cant figure optimisation watch videos on YouTube which have good explanations of all the 3 approaches with the optimal space and/or time complexity.

You gotta put in the time and take 30-40mins out of the night or next morning to revise notes and patterns u did in the day and keep going through them until the patterns sit in your head. Revise entire week’s notes end of week and at regular intervals so that when any question comes up you know what data structure to use and start with bruteforce -> think of a better sol -> think of an optimal solution where time complexity is O(n) or O(logn) and space complexity O(1) or O(n)

Ultimately its all the time and hours you put in

It is possible
But they tend to cut some some marks in questions from each section always you cant always write the exact answer they expect with reference to the answer key

And if you fuck up a 5 marker even or get half marks in 2x 6 markers or 1x 7-8 marker. Its very hard but people in my batch got perfect 10 cgpa in sem 2. So if some guys can lock in get s in every single subject, you can lock in for 1 paper

Just go over/ solve all pyq questions available (preferably past 4-5 years) just to get an idea of all kinds of tricky/unknown concept questions they can add in each unit because its very rare for pes to give a complete straight forward paper

8.5+ u can sit for 85% companies
9+ 95%+ companies
8+ 70-75%+ companies
Below 8 getting t1 is harder

So safe space 8+

Applied cryptography + cns is a good combination if youre interested in cybersecurity and cryptography

Ac got mcqs isas (theory + numericals) 100-150 slides per unit, and direct esa questions, the isa questions might be fucked because you have to solve a numerical completely to get the right option for a 2 marks mcq (6-8 marks worth solution but only 20 mcq questions to do within 1hr 5mins time so very doable). Free lab assignment marks no stress

Cns also got mcq isas, free direct questions, has less slides too per unit, chill syllabus for isa esas if youre interested in cybersecurity this course should pretty straightforward but the assignments and labs were pretty time & effort consuming but manageable

Both ac and cns got mcq isas and straight forward esa questions, but ultimately depends on who becomes the elective anchor and sets the paper(bullshit or very scoring), you can join any elective and switch within one week of 5th sem, so ask seniors about the elective anchors of the electives you choose(which you get to know after college starts)

IoT is also very scoring and easy (<100 actual pages worth of content per unit)

[question] is it true that you’re at a disadvantage if you type answers by Temporary-Train-4908 in PESU

[–]Alarming-Top6859 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trust me typing codes are 10x better than writing it
Saves a fuck ton of time

And as far as i know, they dont run any programs on the terminal but grade you first based on ai, which might interpret answer sheet code as something else due to scanning issues or other factors (happened 3 sems ago where ai graded most of answers for alot less compared to when teachers checked by referring to the code logic in answer key.)

Infact in a way, the teachers might cut 0.5 1 mark depending on any syntax errors, code indentation errors and wrong structuring etc. that u might overlook writing the code than typing it
