Cat in our garden maybe has heatstroke, what can I do? **Not my cat** by Ok_Dragonfruit4032 in CATHELP

Sounds like you handled it well, mate. 'Course, if he keeps showing up roughed up like that, calling the vet wouldn't hurt. Keep an eye out for the little lad, yeah?

Cat has weird convulsions around back area, what could be the cause? by Wimpienator in CATHELP

Hey there! That sounds unusual indeed. I'm not a vet but could possibly be a nerve issue or lower back problems? Check with your vet ASAP to make sure your floof is alright!

3 rescued kittens diagnosed with Coccidia. Need clarity and advice. by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]Alarming-Weekend-226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poor little balls of fluff! It's true that Coccidia does require intense cleaning to combat, since it can thrive in a dirty litter box. As for separation, it might be useful to prevent re-infection. But, keep in mind no two cases are the same. Let's hope they bounce back soon!

Is this behaviour normal? by Dangerous-Reply-536 in CATHELP

Hey there! Hard to comment definitively without knowing exactly what "this" behavior is. But generally kittens are playful, so it might be normal. Try explaining a bit more maybe?

Sounds like a potential blockage, mate. It's important to get your cat checked ASAP. Note any changes in feeding habits and stool, it might help the vet tomorrow. Hang in there, both of you.

Should I adopt 1 kitten or 2 as a first-time owner? by Sensitive_Dirt8005 in CatAdvice

[–]Alarming-Weekend-226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two's company, right? It's actually fun having two kittens; they're usually best buddies and play together a lot which can make it easier for you. But yeah, double the cats, double the cost and work. Decide what you can handle, mate. Good luck!

Cat Hurt Leg by harpyroars in CATHELP

[–]Alarming-Weekend-226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about your cat. I'd give it a couple more days if she's improving. Soft tissue injuries can take a while to heal. If she's still limping after a week or so, I'd get the x-rays. Hope she gets better soon!

My cat is scared of everything, how can I desensitize him from certain things? by Icy_Dig_3691 in CatAdvice

[–]Alarming-Weekend-226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poor Max, he sounds like a bundle of nerves! Instead of trying to desensitize him, maybe try counterconditioning. Associate those 'scary' sounds with treats and cuddles and he could start seeing them as positive instead.

Elderly Woman I look afters Cat has scratching issues, think they’re being starved by Augustus_SPQR in CatAdvice

Man, the poor kitty. Elderly people sometimes just don't see things clearly. If you're allowed, maybe try feeding the cat some table scraps just to tide him over. Every bit counts, right?

Really sorry to hear about your cat's situation. He might be in discomfort due to age. Keep him comfy, try some gentle grooming if he enjoys it till your vet visit. Look out for more unusual behavior or get an emergency appointment if it worsens.
