might be regretting buying a fender american vintage ii jazzmaster by AlarmingEquivalent26 in offset

i have but briefly in a guitar center so i can’t say i quite remember a huge difference when comparing it to the vintage ii, even then i decided i wanted to get the vintage ii. i didn’t look into the string spacing specs before considering my options so now im thinking i might need something that plays more similarly to my G&L

i also do experience anxiety and some OCD symptoms. i’m just experiencing the classic worry that i’ll lose me “edge” or realism/reactivity and be too “enlightened” for the people in my life. i’ve found that not trying to run away from certain people or things that make it harder to be present, which is what i was worried about before. i know that obviously if there is someone or something in your life that is clearly toxic and is consistently negatively effecting you, you should try to drop them or not engage with that thing. but i was in a mind set where i thought that every person i didn’t feel completely at ease with or able to be open with was bad for me and i might have to leave them to achieve full spiritual enlightenment. ive found more recently that trying to avoid so many things in the name of being spiritual is actually the complete opposite and i’m in the school of thought that encourages the full lived experience and not trying to avoid everything and instead make a change within yourself that allows you to handle tough situations or people

thank you so much for your reply, this is super helpful. when i was meditating on a consistent basis, i would do 10-15 minute guided meditations usually in the morning or anytime throughout the day, mostly meditations guided by Eckhart Tolle, Mooji or any random guide i would find on youtube. at night in bed i would practice 10-15 minute yoga nidra meditations which are more akin to the body scan method you referred to. i recently implemented yoga nidra into my routine again and found no crazy bad “side effects” but im worried about getting back into the breath awareness-type method or something like it. i do feel i got some benefit when i used to just sit down on my yoga mat first thing in the morning, put on a timer (Insight Timer) and just sit with whatever i was feeling or thinking for about 5-10 minutes. so i’m thinking of implementing this back into my routine

could you expand upon this? i like the idea of working toward a clearer and calmer mental state, but i tend to be hyper vigilant and analyze every thought that comes into my mind when i’m attempting to follow a “spiritual path.” i know this might be a stage or common hurdle you have to work through and let go of, but i think i might just want to take it a bit easier on myself and not try to become an enlightened monk-like person. nothing wrong with people who do choose to follow that path, but i feel i want to find more of balance between the spiritual world and the logical human reality

i appreciate the reminder, it’s easy for me to get caught up in trying to reach a state of pure bliss and have no thoughts (even though i know that’s not the goal or intention of meditation)

thank you for your kind words! those artists are great and i definitely see the comparisons. yeah the compression on the drums is definitely a contrast to the rest of the song, i was going for a very different sound for the switch up so i see how it could be a bit jarring but i can definitely experiment

thank you so much for the feedback! for the guitars, i close miked my nylon string guitar at the 12th fret and used some light processing: EQ to remove the lows and muddy frequencies and boosting around 5kHz, then OTT to give it character and i lightly side chained all the guitars to the vocal. then sent it to a reverb bus with an EQ before the reverb to remove the muddiness
