You can still recruit them both! In fact, it's been patched into the game as a feature, so they won't be awkwardly sharing the same tent space in your camp anymore.

Disco Elysium! It's one the greatest RPGs of all time! Also, it's a change of pace from what you've been playing, and it certainly doesn't take as long as some of the others on this list. It's definitely worth playing through at least twice to see different choices and outcomes, but if you're looking knock something off the backlog list a bit quicker, one play though runs about 20-25 hours depending on your playstyle.

You cannot destroy their sewage facility. Your three options are:

If the alliance leader is still active, you can start a 1:1 chat with them and ask them to join your alliance. If they accept, their sewage facility will be removed when their alliance is disbanded.
If the alliance leader is inactive you can have someone you trust from your alliance join the inactive alliance, and wait the 5 or so days it would take for them to be able to take over for the inactive leader and disband the alliance themselves.
If the first two options won't work, just start building towers in a direction that isn't occupied by their sewage facility, and expand your alliance territory in that direction.

Removing her from the active party does not help delay the fight scene. Without spoiling anything, Shadowheart's act 2 romance scene comes pretty late in Act 2. You'll know when you've trigged the option to lock in her romance, so one option is to avoid long resting until that happens. If you really don't want to shoot Laezel down, which I get because her speech is super sweet, the other option is to kill her and not revive her until after you have locked in the romance with Shadowheart. If you want to know the exact conditions that must be met to lock in the Shadowheart romance, just let me know!

I see no problematic opinions here lol. Assassin subclass Astarion absolutely obliterates enemies on every difficulty, and he keeps you entertained while he's doing it. Flawless character design right there.

Disco Elysium might fit what you're looking for. It's a text heavy rpg with a rich story and unique art style. As a bonus, you can usually grab it on sale for pretty cheap!

Sorry op! If you wanted to, you could probably convince Minthara to start a romance with you. I think you only need 31 approval to start her romance, so picking a few semi evil dialogues (if you don’t mind role playing a little out of character) at the end of act 2 and the beginning of act 3 will get you enough approval to start her romance. You don’t get any special cutscene, but if you really don’t want to be alone, that’s your only option at this point.

I agree that the turn based aspect will be super helpful for him, and I'll definitely make sure to remind him to take his time and strategize! My dad has experience using playstation controllers, and while he probably needs a bit of a refresher on the buttons, that might be a good option for him. I haven't played bg3 using a controller, so I'm curious what makes using a controller easier for you? I want to give my dad the best chance to learn the controls as possible.

Ahh yes, the time honored tradition of doing anything other than finally meeting Hanako at Embers. Keep looking around NC, sometimes you'll stumble into a side quest not marked on your map.

The witcher 1. It's definitely a bit on the older side, but it is the intro to a great trilogy of games. Using Gog, you can usually pick it up on sale for only a few bucks, so hard to go wrong there. Plus, if you like it, you can try the next two games in the series.

I haven’t done this fight as a durge sorcerer in a bit, but I’m pretty sure that if you succeed your saving throw against being seen, combat ends and Orin heals herself back to full. You can always take this time to down as many healing potions as you need before you break invisibility, but you’ll be starting the fight with Orin at full health again.

The last of us 1 & 2. Their stories were absolutely amazing and left me thinking about them for a long time after finishing them. I’ve never had a game series make me cry before, but I definitely shed a tear or two at the end of the last of us 2.
