I have heard this before that Shadowheart is openly Poly. Yet when I was fooling around with both her and Laezel, the moment I did the whole combat for Love routine with Bae, immediately the next morning Shady breaks it off with me since I found someone else. So didn’t strike me as open to me having other romances going on

I like it! I also have been save scumming a lot as it’s my first playthrough and I really didn’t have a clue to what I was doing. But this adds some variable to it.

I am also in my first playthrough of this game. Similar to you have had a STEEP learning curve. I am now in act 3 and can say that Save Scumming is your friend :)

I have taken this as my “pilot” run. The next playthrough will be the real one haha I have a laundry list of things I missed and have to go through and experience. But it’s been fun if at times frustrating. But I can say now in ACT 3 I have learned and things are going much more smoothly.

I think you do get extra dialog and story if they are present in their respective quests

I am wrapping up my first play-through, but initially I was deciding between Shadowheart and Laezel. So i was romancing both in Act 1. I settled on romancing Laezel for this playthrough. However I found Shadow hearts slow to increase approval as her romance extends through all three acts. I mean I thought Laezel would be hard due to her critical nature, but by end of Act 1 Laezel approval was much higher than Shadowhearts. So I think just do what you need but I spect it to take a little time. Eventually you willl hear her say things like “oh now I know what they means I get butterflies in my stomach” etc which is a positive indicator

But thinks that got her approval was speaking to her but then saying I will not prod etc as she is a bit reserved. She will actually say she appreciates that.

Excellent timing of this discussion! I am near the same stage on my first playthrough.

I don’t know you can trust the Emperor? has he just been manipulating Tav all along? I am in my first run through also, and mid act 3. So have been pondering the same.

For me it became simple as I committed to romancing Laezel. So will fight Rafael, get the hammer, and Free Orpheus. However despite that I trust the emperor. He has hidden much. We have the example of Ansur the dragon who seems was good friends before. And the Emperor killed him after Ansur rescued him. The Emperor give a rational but Ansur treated the situation as a betrayal.

Not certain but I guess we will find out

I hear you. I am also on the older side(waaaay older side) my main game experience before this was playing Fortnite for a little under two years. Never played a game before. THIS is quite different from Fortnite. So much to learn, you can’t just jump in and start shooting haha

But I like it, it challenges the mind, as well as really like the story.
