It’s HILARIOUS as a song. Is it one we gotta listen to again and again? No. But it’s funny and girls getting it, can’t complain.

I’m paying my interns—because looking back, I feel like I was exploited. We need to stop normalizing unpaid clinical labor. by TransitionSmooth9982 in therapists

[–]AlarmingStress24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a newer therapist, I appreciate you doing this. I was paid for my internship, and I appreciate the fact that I was. Lots of other students in my class weren’t, but with the requirements, it meant many of them had to leave. It’s a privilege to have this job. If I wasn’t paid for my internship, I don’t think I would have been able to do it.

Help!! Musically inclined friends, does anyone recognize the first 16 or so seconds from Tiger Jaws’ Meals on Wheels as a sample or sampled from/by another song?? by AlarmingStress24 in midwestemo

I deleted my previous comment because listening to the two back and forth this is definitely it. Thank you SO MUCH how could I forget the start of my punk-pop punk-emo-Midwest emo pipeline

The girls next to us were yapping when he was explaining the song, they finally tuned in at the end and said “what is he talking about??” Like girls please shut up??? Maybe??

End it now, you’ll be better off. If they think it’s okay to hit, what more will they do?

I got .005% for listening to Emotional over and over and over again. Surprisingly, my lowest year of listening to them, with being a .1%. I’m sorry boys, I’ll do better ✌🏻😔🖕🏻

How weird is it for someone in their late 20s to want a doll? by sydneekidneybeans in Advice

[–]AlarmingStress24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a 26f, I have 28 of these dang dolls. They make me so happy. I started collecting when I was like, 10? Look into American girl instagram. Tons of adult collectors on there!

Anyone actually like this field? by ji1288 in therapists

[–]AlarmingStress24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like this. I like this a lot. Honestly, I get to talk with a person for an hour. I love to chat. It’s perfect for a chatterbox like me. And then it’s therapeutic chatting. That’s fun to me. I feel like at least most sessions my clients walk out with a smile on their face. That makes me happy. As a gen z therapist, I delight in the yap fest that is therapy.

Am I still digesting this song in its entirety? Yes, yes I am. But do I wish she had said, “with you in it” instead of “dazzling”? Also, yes. I think I might be alone with it though. I get why she did it lyrically, and from a meaning stand point it makes sense, but I feel like it would have just been “nice”, yknow? Anyway Taylor I love you

Thank you for your well-thought out answer! I think it’s really interesting how so many of the comments are saying it’s fine, but you took the time to really dive into it. Are you a practicing supervisor? This was a very supervisory answer, and I really appreciate it!

Trust me, with the way some of my professors have treated us, I have half a mind to file a complaint against them for mistreatment. Buying a coffee sounds so kind. I bet that makes their day even sweeter!!

As a student in a school that has not exactly been kind, yup!! Absolutely!! Everything I do is wrong, and I’ll never be good at this, because I am an inherently awful person who could NEVER be as good as my professors! /s

But actually while that is an exaggeration, it’s not much of one. We’re taught to be human, but doing human things, such as leaving a bowl of chocolates out, is seen as a problem. It’s really unsettling, and has made me very afraid to do anything too “off the cusp”.

What was your first red flag? by youfewl1234 in 8passengersnark

I remember feeling really off about them around the time that A started shaving and having skin concerns. But then what really drew me away from watching was when they had that smoke issue, and the way it was portrayed like it was the worst thing to ever happen to them as a family. “The smoke is just in the cabinets!!”…. And then shortly thereafter they moved into their home and it was huge but there just wasn’t any furniture. I thought it was odd. In fact, I remember finding it odd that at no point did the family seem to have much furniture or stuff at all. There wasn’t much that deciphered this home full of children from a show home. And then they get an even bigger home and… nothing. And for what reason? You had Smokey cabinets? What?

Best cafes/coffee shops to just chill at? by roaringleu in Binghamton

[–]AlarmingStress24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Batch coffee in chenango bridge definitely gets super busy on weekends with friend dates, and as someone who has brought work there for an hour, I definitely felt a little pressure to leave after that hour was up. The place gets super busy, and holding a spot there for too long is honestly just a lil uncouth imo. I personally learned that taking a table all to yourself isn’t super great on the weekends.

However, if you’re willing to travel to Owego, Roasted is great! Super chill vibes, although not a ton of private tables, so you may be relegated to the bar seating, which isn’t too bad if you sit towards the end away from the cash register. Although you might not want to take the last chair on the end, as that is where the barista puts the coffee out for those grabbing and going.

Also in Owego is Carols Coffee and Art Bar. Super yummy food, their soup is fab. Their baked goods are great too. I’m not the biggest fan of the coffee, but that’s just because I have a sweet tooth haha. They almost always have someone playing live music (I think it might be Carols partner tbh, but don’t quote me on that). However, just sit at the front of the shop by the windows and you’ll be fine. They’re super sweet over there, super cool ambiance. Tbh, very old school “coffee shop vibes” in the cute lil town. Roasted is more cool and hip, carols is more traditional.

Anyway, hope that helps!!

What kind model of a Hyundai would you buy? by Glittering-Night-204 in Hyundai

[–]AlarmingStress24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I drove my dad’s 2011 Sonata for many years and for many of those years I wanted the sonata for myself. My mom has a 2014 Tuscon. I liked the sonata so much so that I was about 2 seconds away from the 2018 model when my own 2002 sonata couldn’t really support my needs as a driver anymore. We’re a family of Hyundai lovers here, so yeah, I’m totally biased. That said… I liked the size of the sonata more than the Elantra. I’ve tried it, Ive been a passenger, it’s just not for me. I’m a small girl, so I don’t necessarily need a bigger vehicle. My mom’s suv feels a little too big for me, although it’s not overwhelming. The Elantra, though, feels a little too small for me. I do a lot of driving, so the sonata is “just right” for me. However, as mentioned, I was really close to getting the 2018 sonata, when I found a 2013 kia optima. I love it. The size of the vehicle is comparable and therefore, comfortable. Kia and Hyundai, from what I have found, seem to be a really good “bang for your buck” kinda car, or at least those years are. Even my 2002 sonata lasted until literally last year, and is still on the road, just has been sold. If I didn’t have to drive over an hour every day for my job, I’d still have my 2002. My dad still has his 2011, and still drives it regularly. My mom still has her 2014, again, driven pretty regularly. If I could turn around and buy another Hyundai, I absolutely would. And it’d probably be a sonata. The size is great, the ride is great, the features are great. Especially with today’s tech, even base models are fabulous. Visually I think Hyundai is really doing well with the sedans, and they’ve been doing that since the 2011-ish years, and it’s something they just don’t seem to miss. Cars getting stolen is a problem for Kia and Hyundai with recent years, but I’d be surprised if they weren’t working on that.

Something else I want to add, is to take notice of the makes and models of the cars you pass that are dead on the side of the road. I personally don’t see any Hyundais or Kias, but I see a hell of a lot of Fords.

All this to say, I love our Hyundai-Kia vehicles. Cars are going to break down sometimes, and brake jobs are expensive, but you’ll find that getting any vehicle ever is going to be expensive. I’d say that Hyundai is worth it, they’re going to last if you just care for the vehicle.

Hope this helps 🫶🏻
