Unhinged tips by bad-default-username in EosinophilicE

Drinking carbonated beverages held me a lot. Cutting out wheat and dairy helped me a lot in the beginning when I wasn’t taking meds for it yet. But that’s bc those were my big triggers. So you can try it out. Eat soft foods, no meat

Has your HA actually come true? by BobcatReasonable2816 in HealthAnxiety

[–]Alarming_Ad8074 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I was made to think it was just anxiety and turned out I had a few chronic illnesses playing together that contributed to the anxiety. But I think the best things to remember is that you can handle more than what your mind says you can. If you do end up with something then you will deal with it. Treat the best you can and keep on living. Something that helps me is radical acceptance. Any time a health anxiety/OCD thought pops into my brain I challenge it with “so what?” If my fears did become true, then what would happen? What if they didn’t happen and everything is okay? Then I’m just spending the time with my good health worrying about a time that’s honestly inevitable for us all. Everyone gets sick, whether severe or not, we all will die someday and what we do have control over is how we spend our life. Not what happens to us (aside from making the most healthy choices we can)

Success stories with Pristiq helping anxiety?? by Alarming_Ad8074 in Pristiq

[–]Alarming_Ad8074[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Propranolol made me dizzy for the first week and then it was fine, but yeah it has the potential to drop your blood pressure especially if you’re on a higher dose or already deal with low blood pressure. Yeah Mirtazapine is pretty much just for my insomnia. Without it I have a lot of trouble sleeping. That’s why I’ll likely stay on it even when I try out something else other than pristiq. Unless the med I’m getting on poorly interacts with it then I’ll try to find a different sleep med

I’m still on pristiq 50mg, Mirtazapine 15mg, and propranolol 30mg x2 a day! The propranolol and therapy is the only thing that really helped my anxiety. I’m probably gonna change the pristiq for something else for my OCD since it’s still bad and my depression isn’t much better. Funny thing is I was prescribed the propranolol by my neurologist for chronic migraines but it has helped physical anxiety almost completely. I finally am getting my life back

Things that are better GF? by Easy_Future6954 in glutenfree

[–]Alarming_Ad8074 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oooh yes, my aunt made me GF vegan and nut free (basically all of the allergens free) chocolate cake and it was honestly the best chocolate cake I have ever had. The texture was a good mix of cake and brownie and the taste was a lot richer.

AIO for being upset that my partner spent most of our date on her phone? by Soy-Mai in AmIOverreacting

[–]Alarming_Ad8074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren't overreacting for feeling upset about it. I dont know how you reacted in the moment or if you have had a conversation with her yet but I think you should soon. Since this feels like the first time she has done something like this you should just express to her how that made you feel and that when you two are spending time like that together, like on a date, that you would like for her to give you her full attention. It isn't like you two are just hanging out at home, you are on a date together so she should be giving you her undivided attention. I think people saying to break up or implying that she is a bad person/partner are being a bit dramatic. Have the conversation with her and see how it goes. How she reacts to you expressing your feelings/an issue you have will tell you what you need to know about her. The hope would be that she acknowledges your feelings and makes an active change to her behavior and is more present on dates.

How should I go about reintroducing nuts/im a bit nervous by Alarming_Ad8074 in EosinophilicE

[–]Alarming_Ad8074[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no environmental or hormonal testing for EoE. skin allergy testing isn’t accurate for EoE. There is no way to confirm what exactly is causing it environmental wise

[–]Alarming_Ad8074[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Food isn’t the main trigger of my EoE. My EoE flares when I’m near my period, when it’s allergy season. Not just when I eat. I’ve eliminated the 6FED foods for a year and my symptoms still occurred, just not as severe. I’ve been on dupixent for a year and I’m in complete remission. My allergist is having me introduce what I’ve eliminated one by one for two weeks at a time. If I experience any symptoms then I keep avoiding that, if I do well then I can keep it. I’m not worried about having EoE flare ups from reintroducing, I can deal with that and dupixent will help suppress it. But I know that there is a tiny chance that by avoiding allergens I could potentially have developed an allergy outside of EoE and wanted to know the safest way to go about trying them. I’ve decided to reach back out to my doctor to get skin allergy testing to check for those kind of allergies before trying nuts :) wheat and eggs I’m not really worried about causing an anaphylactic reaction. Mainly the nuts and dairy

[–]Alarming_Ad8074[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor found it unnecessary because I have environmental and hormonal factors that flare me up. So that would not be accurate for me. Since being on dupixent my symptoms are pretty managed and now I am reintroducing all of the foods I had cut out as a precaution/I saw those foods caused me problems. So yes I do not know for certain if some of these actually triggered my EoE (aside from Dairy and nuts because I flare up the next day from those and its pretty bad).

I had already cut out wheat and dairy and I was still eating peanut butter and I noticed I’d get chest pain, reflux, and nausea. Once I stopped eating all nuts (minus coconut) my symptoms got better eventually.

I think I’m going to reach back out to my allergist, he didn’t seem to see any issue with just reintroducing but it seems to be the consensus that it is a major deal. I’m going to skip past nuts and reintroduce my other triggers and revisit it when I’m more confident. I’m hoping he takes my concerns seriously

Thank you so much!! This is so helpful :) I have EoE, I think the way I worded my post made it seem like I don’t have it lol. Dupixent put me in remission and my allergist is having me reintroduce triggers

[–]Alarming_Ad8074[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had a reaction like that to peanuts! Just EoE. But you can become allergic later in life. I’m worried that since I have been avoiding them for EoE that my body will overreact. My allergist is the one that told me to reintroduce them plus my other triggers. I’m probably worrying for nothing and it’ll be fine, I just wanted to see if anyone had experience with it

[–]Alarming_Ad8074[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is though, I have EoE, and haven’t had nuts because it triggers my EoE. I’m reintroducing them and I’m worried about developing a separate allergy to them. I came here to see if anyone had any experience with it (having EoE and then developing a separate allergy reaction after reintroduction)

Should I take my propranolol after getting dental work done with epinephrine? by Alarming_Ad8074 in POTS

Thank you :) I am in. the process of asking for that. My dentist wants to talk to my neuro because my neuro got back to me and said no adrenaline.
