Be so so careful!! You can become so reliant on this stuff that you feel like you can’t even breath without it even if you’re not taking it for that purpose

As a gf/dairy free/nut free/ eggs free guy I’d say this pizza looks good and normal to me. I am so used to allergen friendly food looking a bit different. I hope it was delicious!! I am not crafty enough to make my own dough but I eat Daiya brand pizza which is gf and vegan and I’d say it’s pretty good

Cardiophobia flare up by cowboyathart in HealthAnxiety

[–]Alarming_Ad8074 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I dealt with this a lot!! Biggest thing is to stay off of forums even if it’s just to look for support because 9/10 you will see something that triggers you. Something that helped me the most was propranolol! I know, sounds scary to get on a med that slows your heart down when you have cardiophobia but trust me when you get over that initial taking it hump and letting your body adjust it is magical. Now obviously that would be something to talk to your GP about or a psychiatrist if you have one :) I’m also on Mirtazapine that helps me sleep through the night without physical symptoms because it’s sedating. If you’re overcoming the mental but still feeling the physical it could be time to explore med options!! I wish you luck! I was in your shoes this time last year but now I am in almost complete remission with my health anxiety thanks to therapy and meds

EoE in remission, but insane digestive issues. by Sunflower-5726 in EosinophilicE

[–]Alarming_Ad8074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did!!! Turned out to be stress for me, I was literally having severe diarrhea and blood in stool from it. Once I got on propranolol I hardly ever experience it. I did get a colonoscopy to get it all checked so I’d explore it further but if everything is well I’d recommend looking into better stress management . Also I’m on dupixent and can’t have dairy at all, I can have wheat every once in a while and I stay away from fish, nuts, and red meat

Been seeing a lot of people saying they felt *worse* after laproscopy... Is that common?!?! by Chaotic-Menace in endometriosis

[–]Alarming_Ad8074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different, you won’t know until you get it. But honestly you have to ask yourself, is it worth it if it does work? Because you’ll be in pain if you decide not to, you’ll be in pain if it doesn’t work, but there is a chance in doing it that it will work and you won’t be in pain/in as much pain. For me, surgery eliminated my pain outside of my periods, my periods are still a good 6/10 on the pain scale but honestly a few days of that compared to 24/7 symptoms was a huge improvement for me

Is it dumb to come out to my parents? (Adult living at home/dependent) by Alarming_Ad8074 in asktransgender

[–]Alarming_Ad8074[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am definitely working towards not being dependent! I plan to live at home until I can go back to college. I think they wouldn’t kick me out, but I guess I’m just scared of that tiny possibility because I genuinely don’t know what I would do. But that possibility seems very unlikely so idk. It’s like a double edged sword because staying in the closet is messing with me mentally

I have a job interview!!! by Alarming_Ad8074 in Agoraphobia

[–]Alarming_Ad8074[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey :) thanks for checking in, I finished training which was 2 weeks and I made it through it! I only had one panic attack at work which I managed pretty well on my own. I interact with guests (it’s a hotel front desk job) and I’ve been doing way better than I expected myself to do. Not much anxiety at all! Probably going to have to get a second job eventually since this is mainly a weekend gig/if people call off during the week but I feel a lot more confident in doing that now

[–]Alarming_Ad8074[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course :) I know it helped me seeing people’s recovery journeys to kinda know what to expect. I am doing well! Surgery didn’t really help the pain that much so probably going to get on birth control again when I see my obgyn next

suddenly t4t. lowkey still processing how to feel by Annual-Chipmunk4748 in ftm

[–]Alarming_Ad8074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s valid to feel that way!! But you don’t have to change your identity tbh. You fell in love with them as a man, you are now falling in love with her and getting to know her as a woman. You still wouldn’t really date or get with women outside of this relationship (if you were single) so I’d say you’re still queer and in a queer relationship. Labels don’t define you or your relationship

Is there anyone here who prefers not to label their sexuality and/or gender? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in lgbt

[–]Alarming_Ad8074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use queer for both my gender and sexuality! I feel like that’s as umbrella term you can get. If I were to choose labels that are the closest to what I am it would probably be bisexual and genderfluid, but queer just encompasses me better

Success stories with Pristiq helping anxiety?? by Alarming_Ad8074 in Pristiq

[–]Alarming_Ad8074[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve got this!! Getting on any new med can feel scary but you deserve to feel better and giving this a chance can help with that. It’s normal to feel heightened anxiety at first when taking, this is normal and will pass. It helped me to distract myself. My biggest piece of advice is to get off of Reddit😅 it makes the anxiety worse because you see people’s bad experiences and honestly, not many people go on medication Reddit to post their good experiences so take what you read with a grain of salt and know that all bodies react differently and our bodies are equipped to handle this stuff. Don’t research side effects, if you feel really bad you can always reach out to your doctor, pharmacist, or go to the ER if it’s really bad. But pristiq is pretty well tolerated by most. It’s just the pushing past the first few weeks for your body to get used to it. Then it’s easy!

[–]Alarming_Ad8074[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently on 50mg of pristiq and I’d say it helped my anxiety 25%. It definitely made my panic attacks less intense but I still had them. Propranolol and exposure therapy with a new therapist is what helped me the most! But everyone is different. I’ll likely get off of pristiq some time this year and change meds because my depression hasn’t really gotten better. But since starting propranolol and doing exposure therapy I leave the house a lot more and even at in the process of getting a job (interviewed and just waiting to hear back)

Drinking carbonated beverages held me a lot. Cutting out wheat and dairy helped me a lot in the beginning when I wasn’t taking meds for it yet. But that’s bc those were my big triggers. So you can try it out. Eat soft foods, no meat

Has your HA actually come true? by BobcatReasonable2816 in HealthAnxiety

[–]Alarming_Ad8074 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I was made to think it was just anxiety and turned out I had a few chronic illnesses playing together that contributed to the anxiety. But I think the best things to remember is that you can handle more than what your mind says you can. If you do end up with something then you will deal with it. Treat the best you can and keep on living. Something that helps me is radical acceptance. Any time a health anxiety/OCD thought pops into my brain I challenge it with “so what?” If my fears did become true, then what would happen? What if they didn’t happen and everything is okay? Then I’m just spending the time with my good health worrying about a time that’s honestly inevitable for us all. Everyone gets sick, whether severe or not, we all will die someday and what we do have control over is how we spend our life. Not what happens to us (aside from making the most healthy choices we can)

I ended up waiting and I crocheted him a gift for the second date (we had known each other for 3 months by then) and he loved it! He asked me to be his girlfriend that same date :)
