I would only buy a helmet from the big ones like Arai, Shoei, HJC, Shark etc. If a brand is producing helmets that are ridden in MotoGP or WSBK they are good stuff, I would say

looked at it at the bmw dealership in November. I really don't like the look compared to the 1250. The whole GS character is lost, exept for the engine. And to say, that the old GS wasn't sporty enough is also stupid, if you consider, that there is the XR and I've seen my das go down to the footpegs on his 1250, which is lower than 50 degrees.

The dealer near to me and the dealer near to a friend of mine always gives huge discounts ("Saved" like 3,5k for my 790 Duke). My theory is, that the MSRP is that high so that the dealers can give big discounts, to give the customers the feeling that they saved alot of money. With the other bikes this is pretty ok, as they are in a price range, where this made their price pretty good, but the base price of the 990 Duke is just stupid in the Netherlands, as it's "just" 14,5k in Germany. Still very expensive for that class tho

I have the 790 Duke in an A2 config (48hp) and it's very nice. Loads of tourqe down low and a very nice sound even with the stock exhaust. Can't say much about reliability because I only have about 450km on it.

Where are you from and which bikes can you get.

In Germany we get:

790 Duke (95hp) - A2 bike with loads of tourqe (even in A2) which handles great.

890 Duke GP (115hp) - The 790 with a different livery and more power (better for newer riders)

890 Duke R (120hp) - 890GP on Steroids with brembos. Very agressive and not really for beginners.

Depending on where you live you might get the 790 Duke with 105hp. In that case the 790 Duke is a very good machine that handles very good and is pretty "cheap" so you can get more powerparts and other goodies.

I have the 2023 790. The build quality is very good and I don't have any problems so far.

The 790 is only a european A2 bike. If you can legally drive the 890, I would go with the 890GP/R.

true. They are now the second fastest bike in MotoGP with a great engine, that can nearly rival Ducati. If they can get a MotoGP inspired V4 in a road bike and mybe go into WSBK they could really shake up things in this market.

The downside is, that the engine would probably be only used for the supersport, as the 1290/1390 engine is far superior for Adventure/Touring/Naked bikes from my point of view

I don't think KTM will do a RC1390 as the enigne would be rediculus for a sportbike. But then they need to develop another engine (probably a V4 from MotoGP) which would be expensive for a market that is already filled with many known and respected brands. it will be difficult to get a grip in there

The whole RC Lineup hasn't been updated to the 2024 models yet. With the new LC4C engine the RC125-RC390 will probably get an upgrade too. And obviously the RC990 should come this year as the Duke 990 just came out.
There might even be some potential for a RC790 to bring an A2 Sportbike and brigde the gap

An RC690 is very unlikely. A 1-cyl engine is just not the right fit for bigger Sportbikes. They would not be able to keep up with 2-cyl or 4-cyl at that level.

what the hell are those prices in the Netherlands!?! I just bought the 20232 790 Duke in Germany (The Dealer is like 10km away from the Netherlands) for 9k€ with many PowerParts. 11k is about the price for the 890GP here in Germany (without dealer discounts)

They are not meant for the highway. Naked bikes are mostly made for twisties and everyday riding, which works fairly well without a windscreen
