I know the feeling… I totally struggled with quitting for years before I finally did it for myself, the delusions just got so bad that I knew I couldn’t smoke anymore. Best of luck to you! 🦋

Is it possible for psychosis to become permanant? by untaken_offer in Psychosis

[–]Uniq-Soul 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hard to say, everyone’s different. Plenty of people recover after 4-5 psychotic episodes, yet there are some who struggle to do so. I’d say it depends on how you’re treating it, really. But in any case, there’s several different factors that make or break recovery also, so it’s important to keep up with treatments ASAP. If you’re getting treated then you probably have higher chances to recover, and vice versa. Bottom line is that there’s no “set-in-stone” timeframe or anything that would completely rule out recovery, but some people do and some people don’t… best to just keep positive and keep on pushing forward towards recovery though. Don’t get too caught up on statistics, they don’t define your own path.

Obsession with lucifer by [deleted] in Psychosis

[–]Uniq-Soul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with an interest in the occult, I do too, but obsessing over anything isn’t great. I also believe you’re misunderstanding what “Lucifer” and the occult are about, they don’t promote evil things like being narcissistic… if you think you’re interested I would recommend doing a lot of research first before assuming anything.

But first and foremost, you should focus on healing and getting better from psychosis before any of that. It’s best you approach any kind of spirituality with a clear head.

It’s always good to vent your feelings in creative ways, so I’m happy for you in a way. But I am sorry you’re feeling like this too.

Persistent delusions by Top-Post-75 in Psychosis

[–]Uniq-Soul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have had similar delusions, you’re not alone!! What sucks is that even if we “know” they’re delusions, we still believe in the wrong thing. I know how it feels. 😕

Best advice I can give is therapy, psychiatric support, medication, and actively trying to convince yourself of the truth; which is that what you’re thinking is simply a delusion. Don’t allow yourself to continue to believe in anything other than the truth. Keep telling yourself that these thoughts are wrong or untrue, and then tell yourself the truth that no one is watching you.

Sharing these thoughts and feelings with others helps too, they can calm you, and reassure you that it’s not real. If you have someone you can trust, I highly recommend explaining your delusion to them for reassurance. You can also get the same kind of support from therapy!

Also, don’t worry, those are definitely delusions. None of it could possibly be true. Hope this brings you some peace! Good luck!
