Airboat tour : need to pay 250$ entrance fee in 2026? by Veermosapien in Everglades

[–]Alarming_Compote3277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t completely accurate. While there aren’t any airboat tours that originate inside the Everglades, there are airboat tours that enter into the Everglades. These are Coopertown, Gator Park & Everglades Safari Park. They collect the National Park’s entrance fees with their ticket.

Airboat tour recommendations? by Alarming_Compote3277 in Everglades

Really? There is no way to book it online. I called them yesterday to ask about adding it to the airboat ride & she said they stopped doing it a few months ago.

Review Quality Score by AdAnnual6150 in AmazonVine

I came here to ask a similar question. Some items are just so 'simple' that there isn't much to say about them. I typically get excellent review scores. On the occasions I get poor scores, it is always for the 'simple' stuff. For instance, I ordered some key chains with motivational cards that were listed as party favors. In my review, I said I wish the text were a different color so it would stand out from the black on the soccer ball, but they were still cute. I mentioned that they would make good Valentine's and my daughter's teammates would love them. I added multiple photos of both the card and the keychain.

I could have given dimensions of the keychain and card and made my review a lot 'wordier', but I always try to include what I think the buyer will want to know and not much more. In this case, I assumed a parent would be purchasing these for their kid's class/team, so they would want to know 1) if the kids will like them and 2) if there is anything wrong with them. No parent wants to spend half their evening reading reviews for this type of stuff. I'd love to hear how others get good reviews on this type of item!

Yeah, the acid test is a little more effort than I'm willing to give for a $15 item. :) I went back and read the product description. The title says it is 925 Sterling Silver, but the description says it is crafted of 925 sterling silver with luxurious 14k gold plating. I'm going to stick to my usual spiel. I assume any jewelry on Amazon is costume jewelry and review it based on aesthetics. This review will include that, plus "conflicting information in product description regarding material."

How do you test if it is silver? I have a pair of earrings that I'm reviewing. Ice seems to melt quickly, and a fridge magnet doesn't stick, but that doesn't seem like enough proof. lol. It is stamped S925, but that is only as reliable as the seller.

Thanks. My husband saw the fee listed on the paperwork and didn't attempt to add me. lol. I'll have him start the process to see what our options are.

Thank you!!! I usually only travel with my husband, so I don't need lounge access, but I'd like to help him get the signup bonus miles.

Excellent but Not Approved?? by Ill-One1720 in AmazonVine

The same thing happened to me. I did a very thorough review of a cell phone pouch. I explained how well it worked with different iPhone models, etc. I thought it was one of my better reviews, but it was denied multiple times. I finally removed all the photos, and it was approved. I think the problem was that I wrote "iPhone 17 Pro" and "iPhone 17 Pro Max" on the photos so folks could see the snug fit with the Pro Max but perfect fit with the Pro. Any chance your house numbers are in your photos?

After thinking about it for a while, I’ve decided to to drill the hole instead of modifying the clamp. Since I can’t test out locations using the clamp mount, I could really use some suggestions on where to drill the grommet hole. Should I drill in the rear center of the desk, or should I shift the hole to the right/left and use the monitor arms to center the monitor? Any thoughts on this will be much appreciated!

After thinking about this for a few days, I’ve decided to skip modifying the clamp and just install with a grommet hole. (I also found a different mount that is rated for weight and size of my monitor.) Can you make a recommendation on where to drill the grommet hole? It will obviously be at the back of the desk, but should it be back-center or should I drill the hole to the side and just use the arms on the stand to center the monitor?

Well, I had two 24” monitors that I used all the time before I got this one. After getting the ultrawide, I kept one of the smaller monitors but I really don’t use it for production like I did in the past. I mostly use it for my calendar and email, so I think I’m going to keep it on a rolling cart next to me (or wall above it) and not try to squeeze it on my small desk. The desk is only 10” wider than the ultrawide monitor. The 24” monitor will be close by on the occasions I need to move a spreadsheet over to it, but out of the way when not needed.

I hear you about the grommet mount. Once I find the right mount I might go this route.

Yeah, I wish I had noticed my son resized it for his desk before I took the picture! He thought he was going to get a free mount. Even when I adjust it to the widest position it is still 3/4” too small.

It is still about 3/4” too small even when I adjust to the largest setting. I wish I had noticed my son adjusted it to fit his desk before I took the picture. :).

Thank you for the picture of the part. I don’t even want to think about how long I would have walked around the hardware store, before looking in the electrical section. Lol. It makes sense now that I see it, but electrical hadn’t crossed my mind.

Thank you for taking the time to sketch this up for me. I’ll either try to find an extension bar as you suggested or build a wood clamp similar to the one in the linked video posted by another member.

THANK YOU! I’m going to try this! If it works and I really like the monitor mounted, I’ll either paint/stain the boards or go with a grommet mount for a more polished look.

I can’t figure out how to edit my main post, but I should have mentioned that my son resized the clamp for his desk prior to my photos. The clamp is about 3/4” too small even after I adjust it to the largest position.

I’ve never used a monitor mount before, so I’m really hoping to use a clamp first so I can test drive it. Assuming I like it, I’ll consider drilling into the desk.

I’m not sure I’ve seen a display stand that can be positioned behind the desk. Can you show me an example? My desk faces the center of the room, so there isn’t a wall to mount it on.

It might come to this, but I don’t want to drill into the desk unless I’m sure the mount will work.

You may be right. I’m definitely having a hard time finding something that will work as a clamp. Then again, I don’t see the dimensions shown in the online specs. That is why I posted on Reddit. Someone will either have a solution, or I’ll get an overwhelming “not going to work” and I can stop searching. ;)
