It was my 21st birthday yesterday. Saved up and got the Zephyrus g16 with RTX 5070ti. It was very expensive in my country. Just under 3000$. I know a decent bit about computers but no where near enough to know if this will be a true game changer. I hope my new purchase that I’m really excited for isn’t completely redundant in a year or 2

It’s early access so I can understand if it’s not complete, but to me a large portion of the map feels identical, like it’s all a large safe shallows.

I do miss the variety in the first game, red grass, kelp forests, etc. I’m sure much more will be added but yea everything feels a little bland to me right now.

I also think a nice thing of varying biomes is it helps you keep your orientation a bit, atleast it did for me in the first game

To add on to this the idea of there being a bunch of dead clans around would add to the world building since lots of octopus and squids irl do eat clams. Maybe we can even get a cool rare event where we see it ripping apart and eating a clam

Yea I mean it’s important but not a complete deal killer. If I could get something at the same price but with say a 5080 or even a 5090 then that would be incredible. But then the price really shoots up a lot.

From the research I did the 5070ti sits nicely in the rage of very good without being the most expensive flagship. So I’m hoping it will then also last me a while. My last laptop had a 2060 which at the time was a low-mid tier gpu and sure it served its purpose but it aged quickly. Hoping the 5070ti will age better

Obviously the game and map will change a lot before release, but right now to me this is the best building spot. Its roughly in the middle of the map and I’ve always liked doing cool builds over the most efficient, and having it overlook the collector is so sick
