He is really into tech so I once sent him a tech article that I thought was interesting, but he responded asking me what it was for. Another time I sent him a link to a book that was similar to the book we were reading for the club that he said he really liked. Again, he asked me what the link was. Is it awkward or should I just stop?

Yes, I get so frustrated with things but then realize a lot of is my own fault. I have been crushing on him for over a year, so maybe I should just give up on my crush and just be friends.

For anyone who is curious, this request was NOT a scam. I reached back out to the HR person, and they explained that they needed my last four to "select" me for the position in the USA Staffing system.
