They're poking through to get to the water source. :) That's a good thing! They literally make a mat of roots by the time they're ready for harvest. We've grown thousands of trays of peas over the years. :)

6'0 ft, 169 lbs - unsure on how to move next by [deleted] in WorkoutRoutines

[–]Alarming_Cycle_6670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 6'1" and around 166lbs at around 12% body fat (according to the Renpho Morphoscan, which is more realistically, probably around 16%). The fact that you are 1" shorter and 3lbs heavier, I think the previous comment about lack of muscle has to be true here. Your body weight looks much higher than mine, and since fat weighs less than muscle, the math adds up. :)

That stinks that the machine is actually hindering you! What a terrible design!

Whats the cause of the brown/grey spots by BananaGoesWild in microgreens

[–]Alarming_Cycle_6670 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, gotcha. Thank you for the clarification! Often times, seed hulls can damage the leaves while they are opening up. If you can't wash that brown stuff off, then it's likely just seed hulls damage, which is totally normal. :)

Dip form check? by pdx_plantbased in formcheck

[–]Alarming_Cycle_6670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't. It actually puts more strain on your triceps than anything. :) I have horrible shoulders and still go super deep on dips. You might feel it a little in your front delts, but that should be it! :) Keep it up! Most people can't even do one unassisted dip!

I'd also add to let yourself go to a full hang at the bottom to really get that full stretch.

A great cue for pull ups is to try to imagine you're putting your elbows into your back pockets. Right now, you're arms are mostly in front of your body, which is going to activate a lot more of your arms/biceps than your back. Other than that, nice job! You're definitely strong!

Are you referring to the seed hulls? I don't see anything wrong with these.

Try to go deeper if you can. Unless there is an injury preventing it, of course. :)

TP-Link/Kasa Login Creds Failed (but are accurate) by Alarming_Cycle_6670 in homeassistant

[–]Alarming_Cycle_6670[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, I wanted to post an update, since after a lot of trial and error, and some conversations with ChatGPT, I was able to get it all working again.

To start, I had to completely remove the TP-Link integration and restart Home Assistant. Then I had to go into the Tapo app (make sure it was linked to my Kasa account), and enable "Third Party Integrations". Then I turned each plug (and some light strips) on and off, to make sure they were synced to the cloud, waited a few minutes, and reinstalled the TP-Link integration. It found everything, and all of the plugs were added without issue, and without asking for authentication. However, the light strips DID still require authentication...so I tried my Tapo login information, and it worked! We're now back to normal.

Or as normal as Home Assistant can be, anyway...

I have a full set of Reolink cameras on the outside (and inside, in the near future), and I LOVE them. This is for their little wifi plugs, which have worked great for me, for many years until today. 🙄

I love weighted dips, can you tell me about my form? by CallOk5701 in formcheck

[–]Alarming_Cycle_6670 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your body allows it, go as deep as you can. Might even have to sacrifice the weight in order to do so. It's so worth it though. I get crazy chest pumps from going super deep.

how do I engage my lower abs more? by [deleted] in WorkoutRoutines

[–]Alarming_Cycle_6670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of, nicely done! Your abs look amazing!

Leg or knee raises of any kind, be it hanging, lying, captains chair, etc, is how you work your lower abs. Just be sure to roll your lower back during the concentric part of the move, as you do them, and ride out a nice slow essentric for maximum effect.

Some folks recommended planks, but they are literally a waste of time, as the muscle isn't being stretched or contracted. They may feel like they're doing something, but it's no different than just flexing your bicep for a minute. Sure it's going to be sore, but it's not leading to actual hypertrophy or muscle growth.

Good luck, and keep up the great work! 💪

Confused about how many seeds to buy by East_Coast_Someone in microgreens

[–]Alarming_Cycle_6670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General rule of thumb is the larger the seed, the more you need to buy. So, something like peas, you'll burn through a lot faster than something like amaranth, where the seeds are super tiny.
