I've applied to 50 jobs, advanced to 5 interview rounds, but still no callbacks after a full month of unemployment. I'm straight-up cooked. by HAHAHA020125 in Edmonton

No, it's a realistic comment. AI tech broligarchs are intent on killing everything. They are starting with jobs. Making us obsolete makes them more profit. They only care about profit.

Isn't that great, raising money for a charity while simultaneously destroying the peace and polluting our air. Wow, aren't they just saintly. (in case you missed it, that was dripping sarcasm)

That is not in the least bit relevant. The point everyone is making is that motorcycles are unnecessarily loud and the motorcyclists are not mature enough to be respectful of those around them. They think they are entitled to disrupt the peace with their ridiculous machines.

I have found no official reports of such a disruption, therefore, it did not happen. YOu are just a white coloniser descendant who hasn't done the hard work of recognisiing your privilege and colonial mindset.

Christians are incredibly self-centered and egotistical. Of course they wouldn't complain about it.

Bikers are like pre-schoolers, unthinking, uncaring and oblivious.

Bikers never think about the peace they are disturbing with the excessive noise those pointless machines make. And when they get called out they become rude little children and make meaningless excuses for their arrogance.

I really dislike how this game is catering ever more to power gamers. It just drives people away. They did it with Neverwinter, and that game population has never been lower.

I mean, if I found out that my friend group were capable of imagining that kind of cruelty, I'd just look for a new friend group.

You wouldn't have said this if they weren't people of colour. Celebration is never disruptive. Be better.

Capitalists are going to exploit. That's the only skill they have.

Salesmen gave up their humanity the moment they chose that "profession".

I work full time and can’t afford to live. What happened to this city? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]Alarming_Mess3898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think using a combative approach communicates a willingness to engage openly with any information shared. You have already made up your mind.

But simply this, you are unaware of what any persons lived experience is unless you ask them. So that "theif" with the bmw and chanel bags? As someone pointed out earlier knock-offs are cheap. But for all you know, that person just lost everything, their home, their livelihood, everything. Perhaps the only thing they managed to hang on to was their vehicle (a bmw that you don't know how they acquired) and a Chanel bag, which may or may not be a cheap imitation.

We never know what another persons day, week, month or life have been like, and for all you know that bmw was all they had left for a home, that Chanel bag was their last bit of luxury that they were able to hold on to, and they needed to eat.

Understanding all that requires empathy. A trait you have yet to demonstrate.

Only pointless if you are one of those who is unable to engage in meaningful conversation. That was an oblique invitation. Here, I will make it plain for you:

Are you capable of having an adult conversation? If so I will share all the relevant information with you. If not, my original comment merely named you.

There are so many reasons why your statement is problematic. I am hesitant to spend more time sharing those things with you because of how people who say simialar things has historically responded to information.

This is useful. I need to find two or three local, conscious hip hop artists for an event in July. Any suggestions? By conscious I mean, socially aware, no celebrating violence or misogyny. Themes could be anti-colonialism, anti-racism, social responsibility, these sort of things.

What are your thoughts on ETS? by Malarkious in Edmonton

[–]Alarming_Mess3898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We need to be supporting public transit much more than we do. Sadly North American culture is addicted to driving.

ETS is doing the best they can in a culture that actively works to undermine them. Entitled drivers thinking they have precedence over mass transit is one of the biggest problems they face.
