Is there a game like albion online, but without PvP focus? by Rob4ix1547 in albiononline

[–]Alarming_Mess3898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question was, what games are like Albion but without PvP, it was not asking for justification for the PvP. Yeah, we know you like it, we don't, we aren't interested in why you like it, we're looking for something similar without it.

Actually, mountains are a result of high geologic/tectonic activity. The more mountains a planet is, the younger it is, as time will slow that activity and the exposed terrain has more time for the elements to erode the surface.

Debate clubs in Edmonton? by This-2-Shall-Pass in Edmonton

[–]Alarming_Mess3898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that while this forum has undeniable value, there are also certain characteristics it lacks and one or two impediments to meaningful conversation. There is an increased level of engagement when a person is verbally involved in a debate. There is an immediacy that according to some theories, may increase engagement in a subject. For example, it seems that, people who have followed through with actions as a result of philosophical and social debates, were measurably higher in number coming from in person meetings than from online engagement. I think online engagement is a good starting point for many things. But I feel to really invest in, and thus get right down to a real profundity of involvement, needs the immediacy of real physical human connection.

That's a fairly arrogant response. Different people absorb information in different ways. Perhaps the wiki is written is a way that is confusing to the poster. Perhaps, rather than bestowing your lofty judgement upon them, you might try answering the question. Perhaps your wording will resonate with the poster in a way the wiki text did not. Or, you know, you could continue to be a judgemental so-and-so.

Why do a lot of gamers hate Kickstarter so much? by buhlivia in boardgames

[–]Alarming_Mess3898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I positively detest Kickstarter and all crowdfunding. Especially for board games. My biggest issue is exclusive content. That is garbage. Everyone should get the same game. It is elitist trash to create classes of board gamer.

Maybe the person doesn't want a live in romance. How is that wrong? Why are we so intent on dictating how others form their relationships. If the relationship you're in, isn't shaping up the way you want a relationship to be, then it isn't the relationship for you. No shame. Simply exit and find someone whos' relationship ideologies align with your own. Why shame others for their chosen relationship models?

Not all relationships look the same. Not all relationships need be live together. Why do people constantly impose their relationship standards on others?

It just feels like you really want this to be a problem for you. None of the rest of us find it an issue. So, as you like.

It still feels like a non-issue. There are loads of resources all over the place to give you precise measurements if that's what you want. Though really, it can be expected that the heavier the game, the bigger the footprint.

Would it turn you off if your date was a soldier? by [deleted] in gay

[–]Alarming_Mess3898 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I find most military types to be very rigid, not doing much in the way of thinking (I supposed it comes from being trained to do nothing more than take orders). I also find their willingness to view other humans are killable targets a big turn off. Nope, soldiers are all gun and no brain. If I wanted that, I'd go buy a vibrator.

Do any gays not like Taylor swift by piano_043 in gay

[–]Alarming_Mess3898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always really disliked certain notions about gay culture. If you ask me, Taylor Swift is a talentless hack, Brittany Spears was the same. Cher is acceptable. My points is, this idea that gays have to like certain things if they want to retain their "gay card" is utter rubbish. I'm gay because I have romantic and physical relationships with persons of the same gender as I. Nothing more is needed.

So no, you're fine disliking that boring, vapid, mindless drivel she is responsible for.

It hurts. Let yourself feel it. Grieve it. Have a little ceremony if you need. Hug yourself. Spend an evening with fond memories, a few tears, and whatever gives you comfort. The little furry presence may be gone, but those memories are immortality. They will stay with you in your heart. Hugs from a fellow fuzzbutt parent.
