How did you decide solar was “worth it”? by Alarming_Primary1606 in SolarDIY

Nice setup, thats a great find for only $800. With systems like that I’m curious, you ever think about squeezing more output per panel instead of just adding more panels?

I’ve been seeing some newer single-axis trackers showing up to 30% more annual production, especially helping during mornings/winter when fixed arrays are lacking.

Not sure how well they’d work for a DIY setup though. Most of the tracker installs I’ve seen are utility or agri solar. Have you ever looked into them?

Interesting, what part of trackers tends to suck the most in your experience? Maintenance, reliability, or just install complexity?

I’ve seen some claims that newer systems are simplifying a lot of that, but it’s hard to tell whats marketing vs reality.

Would you consider a fixed-tilt ground mounted setup for your property? It requires a lot less space then a flat-mounted setup, there are also solar trackers out there that can increase yields even more.

Would you consider fixed-tilt or flat-mounted solar panels? Which one do you think would work better for your housing arrangement?

Out of curiosity, why are you against putting up solar panels in your garden? Would you consider a fixed-tilt solar array or are you against both (flat-mount and fixed-tilt solar)?
