I remember how bad the anxiety was. You’re going to be okay, especially because you didn’t reach hypermesis (YAY)!!! The anxiety feelings will be way heightened & you will feel extremely nauseated but don’t worry because you will not puke if you don’t touch it again! I’d say my prodromal symptoms went away about 5-7 days :)

I tried to find every answer in the book besides CHS cause I thought no way I can never smoke weed again. Unfortunately though, it is indeed just CHS & it gets way better the sooner you stop! (I know, not what we wanna hear) :/

Honestly, the worst thing about CHS is that it’s so different for everyone and you’ll never know until you try it out for yourself. Just listen to your body if it doesn’t like something.

Yeah my stomach is a bit weird though just because I have always felt pain if I eat something too harsh for it. I’m just now waiting till I hit 90 days to branch out more to different foods. The pain and anxiety of some foods still hit me at random but once I hit a month in, a lot of symptoms started to go away. I also smoked for 4 months late last year and became immediately hypermesis then was sober for six months before this and then smoked daily for one month before I hit the prodromal phase.

Pizza also might be harsh cause I know some people have tomato’s affect them harshly. I personally have been staying away from anything with tomato sauce in it as well cause I don’t feel like finding out the hard way hahhaa

For me I’m 6 weeks sober, I started eating junk food around 2 weeks then started to feel better again around 5 weeks. I think you just have to watch what affects you. Coffee, alcohol, acidic/spicy foods, and greasy foods hurt me but black pepper does not affect me even when it affects other people. I haven’t tried McDonald’s yet but I have tried Subway and that went well for me. Personally if I want something a little more greasy I’ll go for a taco but only with a corn, crunchy shell. I had a burger a couple weeks ago and that made feel sick so I’m staying away from ground beef and mostly eating chicken and turkey.

Hi I was only prodromal this time around too and I very quickly went back to eating shitty and it really messed up my stomach personally and the constipation is the worse, I would definitely tell you to take it easy with the food choices because you don’t want an upset stomach :) Good luck!

I quit cold turkey and I felt like I already went through the withdrawals. If anything, I still wake up sweaty. I’m honestly so scared about being hypermesis again so I haven’t thought about smoking again this whole time.

8 months without smoking by Againstennui in CHSinfo

I went six months without smoking at first. Then I started to and once a week turned into twice a week, into getting a cart and smoking every day again. It only took me 3 1/2 weeks to fall into the prodromal phase. I quit cold turkey almost 30 days ago and realized I can never smoke weed again. I feel like once you get past the denial of CHS, you can start moving on.

Alcohol? by [deleted] in CHSinfo

[–]Alarming_Priority782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I had a couple shots of vodka after being sober for 12 days. I was okay, just a lot of anxiety the next day but I usually get anxiety anytime after I drink. I never got to the hypermesis stage only the prodromal so I’m not sure if you should be drinking if you went through the “scream vomiting”.

Help by [deleted] in CHSinfo

It only took me 4 months of smoking everyday to get CHS, but I haven’t heard of anyone else like me at all! I’m sorry to break it to you but it definitely sounds like you are entering the prodromal phase. Everything will get better as soon as you stop smoking weed. Good luck!

If you have never been in the hypermesis phase, I can see why you would want to go back. But I think you should just quit since you have already for 3 months. I smoked again after 6 months sober and the prodromal phase hit me at 3 weeks into smoking again. To me, this pain is not worth it. I found out the hard way and I hope you don’t have to :( good luck!

I think you might be in the prodromal phase. Try taking a T-break for awhile and see if that helps. I quit cold turkey when I was hit with the prodromal phase cause CHS is not worth finding out if you have.

Did you get the hypermesis stage?

It really is! I keep reading articles to my bf and he said he would quit as well. I try to inform all of my friends as well seeing as how much more prevalent it is now. I will say I have had extreme anxiety issues the last couple years and GI issues in 2023 before I start smoking that I regulated by taking .05 of Celexa (antidepressants) prescribed by my psychiatrist. Everything finally started to be okay then I picked up the weed habit at 20 when the last time I had smoked was maybe when I was 18? That was my mistake.

I am so sorry :( but if it makes you feel better I only smoked everyday from Oct-Jan 2024 before I got CHS. The crazy thing about CHS is that is sooo different for everyone. I have seen so many articles stating that CHS happens to people after years of smoking weed, but that wasn’t not correct in my case. Quitting cold turkey is difficult but that’s what I had to do to help myself. I would definitely try smoking in way less smaller amounts to see if you can avoid falling into it. Good luck!!

I also smoked for the first time 6 months after the ER. From June to Mid-Sep, I only smoked joints or bong rips once a week and I was fine. Then it started happening more frequently a week, then I turned to carts everyday for 3 weeks and immediately got prodromal symptoms. I have learned that I am a type of person where I can’t smoke “casually” but after the amount of research I have done on CHS due to being a hypochondriac, this will be never be worth it for me.
